Wexford General Store Antique Shop – Return Investigation

February 8, 2025

Wexford, PA

Investigation

Tucked away on the north of Pittsburgh, PA, roughly a thirty minute drive, the small but thriving town of Wexford holds true history of the region dating back to its original inception of the 1850’s. The building itself, originally constructed as the town’s general store, is a quaint wooden structure which held a prime location in the town during its heyday. The structure doubled as an apartment building hosting the owners, employees, and the random traveler. Its ownership preserved the building holding up against both economic and social declines and successfully survived as it was passed down through familial lineage until the current owners’ family purchased the property and converted  it into an antique shop while expanding its footprint. While the property saw high points during its lifetime, there are also tales of heroism as it also served as a stop on the Underground Railroad in the dire times of the Civil War. Guests don’t just stop into the shop to purchase beautiful antiques (which they certainly do) but they also enjoy visiting this historic building which has a way of bringing history to life. With this aspect, it appears as though history brings others back as well, in a more supernatural form. It seems that those who lived here have returned after their worldly life times due to their happiness and joy that the building brought them. Others, who perhaps struggled in this location, returned here in an ethereal form to make amends or finish some type of unfinished business.

During our initial investigation of the Wexford General Shop Antique Store, our goal was to attempt to decipher whether these otherworldly anomalies were tied to the building or specific antiques. With this aspect we did not necessarily gain a complete answer but we were simply blown away by some of the responses and communication we experienced throughout the night. The energy shifts and atmospheric changes all seemed to be mainly tied to the building rather than any antiques, aside from a table and desk in the Indian Head Room. The Basement held some anxious and shy energies with our medium, at the time, believing this was an unfortunate former slave hiding in the corners of the darkness hiding from any unsuspecting slave sympathizers.

Most of what was experienced down below were odd noises which could not be debunked. As we investigated the building based on these aforementioned energy draws, the Library, on the second floor, the Up Couples Room, also on the second floor, and the Indian Head Room, toward the back of the first floor, provided us with the most information and willing intelligent energies. The Library provided us with names of David and Jennifer while Jennifer seemed to be confined here while David existed all throughout the building. We gathered that Jennifer was a young girl, perhaps seven, who passed away nearby and was drawn to this location due to the collection of books and the openness of the owners. She eventually stepped forward as we spotted her in the thermal camera and actually had to convince her to stay here and not follow us. The Up Couples Room gave us enough information, based predominantly on flashlight activity, that there was a loving older couple still living here who used to reside in the apartment. They gave off a warm and welcoming sensation as if they were more than happy to accept visitors. Noises like whistles, bangs, and footsteps drew us downstairs to the rear of the building which we nicknamed the Indian Head Room based on the large Native American sculpture. Here, we gathered evidence to convince us that there was someone tied to the desk in this room as we visually captured a figure in the SLS camera and even experienced something thrown at us, eventually identified as a random dime which did land heads up.

We attempted to compile all of our evidence from this first investigation in hopes of using it as a guide and foundation to pick up on with this second paranormal investigation. Unfortunately, as we quickly found out, these prior experiences did not hold much water or similar gravity to what we encountered during our second investigation.

As we arrived on site around 6:00 PM, we played catch up with Josh and Shannon and met their youngest daughter. After we set everything up and completed a solo walk through, we realized that many of the previous energies we experienced had altered or changed location; that is except for the Up Couple’s Room which remained warm and welcoming. The investigation itself began right around 8:00 PM and lasted until roughly 1:30 AM as we were completely drained from some of the activity we experienced, particularly early on in the night. Only two of our team was able to make it so we had our third member reviewing the videos and images early on to gain her first impressions as well but, because of this, we were able to include the owners and their daughter into the investigation the majority of the night. Our full arsenal of equipment was utilized throughout the night in one way or another, minus the laser grid which would have had way too much interference with all of the antiques throughout the building ultimately providing false readings. Our complete list of devices includes four motion activated trail cameras, two motion activated lights, two handheld cameras, two body cameras, three K2 meters, one SB7 Spirit Box, one Ovilus, one Rempod, one Spirit Light, five recorders, one FLIR thermal imaging camera, one EM Pump, two light up cat balls, three LED flashlights, and one brand new Portal. Our SLS camera was not functioning properly and we did not want to chance a false reading. With the new Portal, the Phasma Box was not necessarily needed as that would have been overkill with devices.

Our first impressions were similar to our first investigation’s findings; shy and anxious energies hiding in dark corners of the building. Some of the more active locations from our prior investigation did seem to shift. While the building as a whole has undergone antique movements and new dealer locations, the atmosphere seemed to move with them. Some of these spots still had a pull but ultimately a different feel. The Library felt alive, almost electric, but in a different way. One which we wanted to avoid. One which felt very uneasy. The Indian Head Room, aside from being reorganized, seemed void of any type of attachment or energy as if whoever was there had moved on or found a new location in the building. The Basement exuded a similar sensation with whoever had previously been down here had moved on or hid even further and absolutely refused to step into the light. While we briefly stopped inside the Clothing Room during our first investigation, we were never truly drawn toward it but more so the hallway just outside of it where we experienced some fleeting sensations and more residual type activity. This time, this room called out to us, practically forcing us to spend some time here out of a strong sense of curiosity; both ours and theirs. The rear room next to the antique tools where we felt strongly to spend some time but ultimately led to no activity last time did not have one ounce of energy any longer. The room downstairs toward the right side of the building, almost in the far back we ultimately nicknamed the Womans’ Room as we had learned just before the investigation that a long time, well respected dealer had passed away between our last investigation and this follow up investigation. We did not want to know her name as this may have swayed us but we were absolutely drawn to this location during the walk through. On the left side of the building, a room surrounded by crystal statues, drew us in with just an uneasy feeling. Up above, on the second floor right in the middle of the right wing, we were pulled here with an extremely unsettled sensation; one which we ultimately had no choice but to explore later in the night. As alluded to earlier, the Up Couples Room remained unchanged with a friendly, welcoming older couple still greeting guests with open arms.

Combining these sensations with our previous investigation results, we opted to approach this time around with a wide angle, placing trail cameras in these hot spots and recorders throughout the building as we spent time in opposing rooms just so we would have eyes and ears in more rooms than just the ones we were spending time inside of at any given moment. While these static cameras and recorders did not help with the active investigation nor help us progress with any type of communication, they did help us pair things up in order to help us debunk activity while proving other experience legitimate. On top of this, we were able to capture unexplained noises and visual anomalies to further prove our sensations accurate.

Following a thorough and extensive review of all of our evidence and experiences, we have documented our entire second night investigating the Wexford General Store Antique Shop in Wexford, PA. This brings us to a conclusion, backing up our original thoughts, that the energies here are linked much more to the building itself rather than the antiques inside. With that said, these energies seem to shift and move at a whim, choosing when to step forward and come and go as they please. They are not necessarily trapped here but, in addition to that thought, some do not realize this and may need to be urged on and given reassurance that they can and should move along on their own free will.

Below we attached our evidence, personal experiences, and our opinions of our findings from our second paranormal investigation of the Wexford General Store Antique Shop. This includes everything from pictures to recordings to videos. During every clip we note our interpretation as well as our personal sensations at each given moment, all tying together to reveal some intriguing and awe-inspiring paranormal activity and evidence. We attempted to debunk each of these in different ways and what remains is, in our minds, unexplained phenomena and communication from the other side. Please feel confident in sharing your own interpretations via comment on the website or emailing us directly at ironcityparanormal.@gmail.com. We are open minded individuals and will absolutely take any critique and opinions in account. While we do reference our initial paranormal investigation, we have attached that link below so you too can reference the first night we spent in the antique shop.

As always, you have been warned, some of this is not for the faint of heart and can be slightly explicit:

Pre-Investigation: Walkthrough

Since we have already been well acquainted with the property and stories, we opted to do solo walkthroughs of the building to get a feel for the new layouts and antique placements. During this time, we could clearly sense that there was a shift in the atmosphere from the previous investigation.

During our first investigation, we took a similar approach to setting up stationary cameras to capture unseen and inexperienced areas which we did not have the time to venture to which mainly included the neighboring building on the property. While we did capture some anomalous, seemingly paranormal, activity we could not positively prove or debunk these moments which mainly included strange light anomalies moving unnaturally throughout the building. This occurred at the elongated dining table as well as the front door. Unfortunately, this front door was made of glass and with every passing car’s headlights this interfered with the feed and ultimately may have led to false readings and interpretations. Regardless, we recorded them and scoured through them to pinpoint the most captivating moments but without any way to decipher these or tell what caused them in the moment it was difficult, if not impossible, to justify any paranormal activity here.

Our captures here are mainly the walkthrough videos we captured individually while we commented on them with what we felt at the moment. These would not at all be considered paranormal or supernatural. We did utilize this commentary and video to compare some of our latter filmed documentation and evidence as to see what else was nearby, what shadows could be created, and the general layout of the building.

  • There was nothing noteworthy during this timeframe.

Video 1 – Walkthrough 1:

  • There was nothing abnormal here but it gives a wonderful look at the entirety of the building and antiques housed inside.

Womans’ Room – First Floor

Just one room set back off the rear of the building, down the right side opens a dealer’s room which displays and sells everything from crystal wares to beautiful dining room plates, from purses to walking sticks. The word eclectic barely scratches the surface describing this room. With that said, this room has recently undergone transitions from a former long time dealer who passed away since the last time we visited. The owners were interested to see if she was still around and drawn back here but on a different note, we were pulled here with an undeniable energy shift. Not much has been reported here specifically, aside from phantom footsteps on occasion and reports of being watched.

While we spent some time nearby on our initial investigation, this was a mere pass through for us as we did not spend any time here actually investigating. This, though, helps lead us to believe that the changes to the antiques placement and the energies’ abilities to come and go as they please mat once again come into effect here.

From the beginning of our night with our walkthrough, we felt an urge to spend some time here. This was prior to us finding out that there was a dealer who utilized this room that had passed away. Our goal, at first, was to simply introduce ourselves and set some groundwork to return here later in the night. With all the energy that seemed to emerge from the start,  in the form of K2 meters and flashlights, we had to deviate with Spirit Box communication to take advantage of their presence.

Following intense energy spikes, we were alerted to their intelligence as they clearly could count how many of us were in the room multiple times.  We pushed for their identity, just to know who we were speaking with, we captured a name of “Michael” but as the K2 meter again spiked, a flashlight was pushed over off the shelf which sparked more intelligence as they blamed another energy stating “It was Charlie.” To further this thought process, we were also told where and what this Charlie did with “The shelf” and “Light” as if they walked us through the flashlight falling off the shelf. As we proceeded with the investigation, we gathered a combination of verbal and visual confirmations paired up with physical touches which our team had felt at the moment. Another name of “Michelle” was given to us which was seemingly confirmed as crystals were seen swaying strongly with no breeze or anything to cause this unnatural movement. We attempted to confirm this identity and heard a different type of confirmation as we were told to once again pay attention to the “Shelf” and to “Watch this” which culminated in the crystals to cease movement just as the K2 meter, placed on the table across from the shelf, spiked all the way up to red. Following this, we lost control of the Spirit Box and its volume which made us believe that this Michelle was showing herself with these energy surges. Unfortunately, as we turned our attention to the equipment and away from the energies, they seemed to leave. Perhaps this was their ploy the entire time? Perhaps this expended all of their given energy?

We placed our EM pump here following this entire experience in hopes of giving these energies more power to pull from with a promise of returning later in the night. This promised return occurred but did not amount to any further activity or communication.

Photos:

  • We captured a few moments through our videos which we were able to screen capture and share here. This first image was the K2 Meter spiking after we were told to “Watch this.”

  • The crystal’s movement was captured on video and separated here in another screen capture simply to document the antique in question.

  • As we were actively investigating and felt something moving in the opposite room, the stationary camera picked up a light anomaly at that exact moment in the neighboring room.

Recorder 1 – EVP 1:

  • Early on we heard a dull thud of footsteps echoing out of the next room, which we noted had a concrete floor, and this was heard at about :10 here.

Recorder 2 – Transcription 1:

  • While there’s no actual evidence alluded to here, there is clear communication through the other visual tools that we feel deserve to be documented which is best suited to a transcription of sorts.
  • This time frame began as we went to rearrange our tools, one of the investigators went to the back room to grab the Rempod and the K2 meter spiked as he walked past, at :30.
  • After we explained how the Rempod works and what it does, the flashlight placed on the shelf turned on at 1:34 as if they found this tool easiest to use.
  • We asked them to shut it back off so we could ask another question and, at 1:55, it did turn off.
  • As we attempted to just pause and sit in silence to allow them to gather energy as well as allowing all of our equipment to level out the flashlight flickered then stayed on as if to get our attention back. This occurred at 4:38 then grew even brighter at 4:48 after we asked directly if this was them.
  • With that, we mentioned that they had our attention as the K2 meter spiked at 4:52.
  • A second K2 meter, closer to the entrance of the room, placed on the table, jumped to life at 5:10 only to have the initial K2 meter spike once more at 5:40 after we explained that they could take their time finding our tools.
  • Around 6:13, one of the investigators received an image of an older woman with short, white hair standing behind the shelf as if she was just watching us.
  • We asked directly if this was a description of the energy who was stepping forward to speak to us and the flashlight on the shelf turned on at 6:34.
  • With this, the group discussed the woman and, as if she wanted to once again gain our attention, the K2 meter jumped up to red signifying a high energy spike at 6:44.
  • As we continued to discuss this woman, the second K2 meter also spiked at about 6:59.
  • We took notice of this and explained that we see them stepping forward and this time the flashlight and the K2 meter both flickered simultaneously at 8:04.
  • Following some silence, there was a significant energy spike with all of the devices at 11:10 so we asked them if they were ready to speak with us to which the flashlight alone turned on at 11:30 as if agreeing with this sentiment.
  • We attempted to ask this question once again to get a final confirmation but before we could even finish asking this question, the K2 meter and flashlight turned on at 11:51 as if they were extremely anxious to speak with us.

Recorder 3 – Spirit Box 1:

  • As we first powered up this tool, prior to us even explaining what it was, we heard a greeting of “Hello” at :03 and repeated at :05.
  • The number “Four” was heard here at :08 but there were five investigators including the owners at that moment.
  • “Can’t believe” was then captured at :09, perhaps in reference to the tool allowing them to speak so we could understand them.

Recorder 4 – Spirit Box 2:

  • Unprompted, we were given the number “Five” repeated to us three times, at :03, :10, and :21. This was in fact the number of investigators in the room.
  • At about :32, the K2 meter jumped following a surprised exclamation of “What the heck!?” with  “What” and “The” and “Heck?!” all broken up piece by piece at :34, :37, and finally :39.
  • Taking a pause after this excitement the K2 meter settled down and a calm “Okay, okay” was heard at :43.

Recorder 5 – Spirit Box 3:

  • The name of “Michelle” was captured twice through the recorder at :03 and :06 but this was not recognized by the group at the moment.
  • With that, we proceeded to ask if they would like to tell us their names and we heard a gender-altered form of this with “Michael” as if a response at :14. At this same time, both K2 meters spiked.
  • The flashlight situated and settled on the shelf was seemingly pushed or knocked off somehow at :48.
  • As the group openly discussed this action trying to figure out its culprit, blame was seemingly placed on someone named Charlie as we heard “It was Charlie!” at :56.

Recorder 6 – Spirit Box 4:

  • After we were able to collect ourselves, we asked if this energy was still with us and we heard a smug “I showed you” at :11.
  • This was further explained with “The shelf” at :12 and “Light” at :15.
  • Put this all together and they seemingly took ownership, albeit arrogant, of the flashlight being pushed off the shelf.

Recorder 7 – Spirit Box 5:

  • As we distinguished this energy as intelligent, and with a high level of vivacity, we asked if they were ready to give us their name. At :06, we heard what sounded like “Melinda” as if in response to our request.
  • We were then directed toward the “Shelf” at :16 as we asked if this was instead Michelle.
  • The crystals located on the shelf, previously stationary, were noticed moving in a circle while nothing else was moving nor was there any breeze or type of air flow that could be causing this.
  • We then heard “Shelf” repeated at :30 as if to prove that this energy was the one causing those crystals to circle.
  • At this point, we heard another cocky “Watch this” at 1:11 just as the Spirit Box began to lose control with the volume first raising its volume then refusing to be altered. Putting this together, we felt that this energy did cause this disturbance.

Recorder 8 – Spirit Box 6:

  • We re-focused on the name Michelle and asked if that name meant anything to them which was questioned back to us with “Michelle?” at :09.

Recorder 9 – Spirit Box 7:

  • As one of the owners began to speak, in hopes of them recognizing him, there was an almost exasperated heavy breath at :03.

Video 1 – Handheld Camera 1:

  • The flashlight could be seen flickering on and off here.

Video 2 – Handheld Camera 2:

  • The crystals, located on the shelf, could be seen moving on their own throughout.

Video 3 – Handheld Camera 3:

  • A different, better view of the crystals could be seen moving here throughout this clip.

Video 4 – Stationary Camera 1:

  • As we set out our stationary camera here to record everything, just in a different perspective, we first noticed we could hear those footfalls that were minimally heard in person, at 6:22 and again at 6:26.
  • As our investigation continued behind the camera, mainly heard and best captured through the recorders above, we did spot the K2 meter activating on multiple occasions. Most of these were unprompted as if someone was just coming close to it starting at 30:58 and continuing at 31:04, 31:43, and finally 32:16.
  • As we noticed this time in person, we asked if they could step forward and turn that light on and they agreed, lighting it at 40:42.
  • The K2 meter again flashed on at 42:53 but we began to pack up, prompting them to come near the K2 meter one last time at 44:43.

Video 5 – Clip On Body Camera 1:

  • The footsteps could be heard coming from the neighboring room at about 2:38.

Video 6 – Clip On Body Camera 2:

  • Footsteps could be again heard here at :07 and :23.
  • At 2:29 the flashlight turned then back off at 2:51 after we asked them to do so.
  • The flashlight turned on at 5:40 then back off at 6:01.
  • We discussed the image we were given of the older woman and, at 7:30, the flashlight turned on. It shut back off at 8:00.

Video 7 – Clip On Body Camera 3:

  • The flashlight was apparently knocked over at :14 just as the crystal began to move around 1:08. This lasted until 2:00.
  • Right around 2:50, the Spirit Box could be heard losing control.

Video 8 – Clip On Body Camera 4:

  • We asked them if they could light the flashlight and they obliged at :15 until shutting it back off at :22.

Sunken Hallway / Library – Second Floor

Separated from the main building by a demising wall and multiple steps down, this enclosed hallway stretches from the center of the building all the way to the front of the structure. Glancing down this hall can be slightly deceiving as the lighting, colors, and antique displays combine to make it appear endless. There are three full sized rooms down this hallway, part of the original apartment living quarters. Inside the doorway, down the steps, directly to the right, this room boasts a plethora of books collected over time filling bookshelves from floor to ceiling. A stray school desk, complete with attached chair, sits on the right side of the room. Down this same side, there are two separate closets also re-designed to hold books. This is one of the more popular areas for guests to explore and purchase antique (and not-so-antique) books. This is also one of the areas where history tends to come alive – in more ways than one. Shadows and phantom noises have been previously noted here and even, on occasion, books have been turned to different pages than they had been left open viewing and pulled from shelves they had been placed.

Our previous investigation provided us with such an array of activity that it took us some time to truly narrow down any type of communication. This began with phantom noises such as knocks and whistles leading to a visualization of a short but full body through the thermal imaging camera. The height of this individual would make sense to us after our Spirit Box communication where we revealed a young girl who was seven years old had passed away nearby and was drawn to the property. Her name was Jennifer and she was attracted to this building, specifically this room, due to her love of books and the loving and caring aura of the current owners. We quickly figured out that she enjoyed playing with our tools but, with the flashlights, we discovered that she had passed away from an illness. This young girl’s personality clearly shone through as we called us stupid and explained that she preferred to be called a lady. She proceeded to explain that she was, in fact, the one who helped a customer find a book involving an extremely rare type of a bird by turning it to a specific page. She was defensive of her parents and family ties as well as dates she was born and passed away but eventually she provided us with the month she was born; May. We actually had to close off the communication lines and convince her to stay here and recover rather than trying to follow us throughout the building, and perhaps beyond. It was refreshing to hear that she enjoyed speaking with us just as excited as we were to speak with her.

We wanted to continue our good luck with the energy and communication lines which had seemingly opened for us early on here. Knowing how much detail and communication we previously had with this young girl, Jennifer, we were beyond excited to venture back up here and attempt to reconnect with her. We did record some intelligent communication as we were told how many of us were in the room and some of our names repeated to us. We captured quite opposite emotions starting with greetings leading towards us being forced out of the room with “Done” and “Go” and even a stern “Get out.”

Photos:

  • This screen capture shows a moment where the trail camera captured the Rempod activating with no one else nearby.

  • Another trail camera freeze frame showed that same Rempod turning on as if someone had come close and touched it.

Recorder 1 – Spirit Box 1:

  • This first clip occurred as we were walking from our equipment area to the second floor. As we approached the area we felt a certain uneasiness but as we entered the room we captured the word “Five,” at :07, as if accounting for the total number of guests.

Recorder 2 – Spirit Box 2:

  • As we settled in, we heard the name “Adam” at :02 then a greeting of “Hey” at :03.
  • We heard Dan’s name at :04 as he began to take some pictures in the hallway.

Recorder 3 – Spirit Box 3:

  • At :04, “Activate” was heard as if in reference to the Spirit Box turning on.
  • There was a train whistle heard emanating from the Spirit Box just a second later at :05.
  • The K2 meter spiked at :18 but then “Done” was heard at :20.

Recorder 4 – Spirit Box 4:

  • The dog that was with us began to shake and we heard a voice seemingly try to settle her with “Calm” at :04.
  • After we did not respond or continue any communication we were told to “Get out” at :13.
  • Finally acknowledging them, we asked who was trying to get us to leave and heard an ominous response of “We are” at :36.
  • We explained that we only wanted to speak to the young girl named Jennifer and heard a questioning response as if they were confused with “Jennifer?” at :54 followed by “Listen” at :58.

Recorder 5 – Spirit Box 5:

  • We were told “Woman” at :06 but after we asked who was here with us we were simply told “No” at :09.
  • We then asked for their name but with a pause, our attention was drawn to them again with “Hey” at :30 followed by the name of “Raymond” at :37.
  • After explaining that we’d been here before, we heard another greeting of “Hey” at :41.

Recorder 6 – Spirit Box 6:

  • At :02, as if they were notating where they were, we heard “Halfway down” and we took that as if they meant the hallway.
  • Dan’s name was again heard here at :04.
  • We then heard “Adam” at :24, “Charlie” at :32, and “Everleigh” at :33 after we asked for their name.
  • A loud train whistle was captured at :35 followed by Dan’s name once more at :42.
  • The word “Woman” was then captured here at :43.

Recorder 7 – Spirit Box 7:

  • As we discussed the train whistle, we heard more intelligence tying this in here with our conversation with “Railroad” at :04 then “Noise” at :07 and finally “Train whistle” at :10.
  • We asked them if they could make a noise and heard “Wait” at :16. So naturally we waited in silence.

Recorder 8 – Spirit Box 8:

  • We asked if we could take a picture and at first heard “No” at :03 but this changed at :47 with “Take it.”

Recorder 9 – Spirit Box 9:

  • As we once again began to take pictures, we heard an exasperated “Again” at :03, :08, and finally at :17.
  • With this, we were told “Out” at :19 and “Go away” at :43.
  • Once more, we were told “Go” at :52.
  • As we didn’t get this message we heard an almost annoyed “Great” at :56.

Recorder 10 – Spirit Box 10:

  • Early on here, Derrick’s name was heard as he began to speak. This occurred as the recording began.
  • We explained that they could speak through this device and we heard an almost excited “Wait, what?” at :21 followed by another “What?” at :39.
  • While we attempted to slow them down as to only one of them would speak to us, we heard a response of “One word at a time” at :40.
  • With that, we heard yet another gruff “Out” at :43.

Recorder 11 – Spirit Box 11:

  • We asked if they could tell us why they were here and we heard “Back” at :17 and “The owners” at :28.

Recorder 12 – Spirit Box 12:

  • Once again, we seemed to wear out our welcome and heard a few different seemingly  annoyed words of “Go” at :04, “Leave, go” at :39, and finally another “Go” at :50.

Recorder 13 – Spirit Box 13:

  • In the hallway, the Rempod was alerted and could be heard sounding at :08.
  • At :17, we heard an unsettling phrase of “Hey, it hurts” followed by another “Out” at :35.
  • The Ovilus produced two odd words of ‘Son’ and ‘Rust’ at :41.
  • As we asked what they’re trying to tell us, we heard “Out” yet again at 1:07.

Recorder 14 – Spirit Box 14:

  • Intriguing, “Pittsburgh” was captured at :03 just as the Ovilus produced the word ‘Providence’ at :10.
  • We were desperately told that they were “Done” at :18 and :28.
  • Again, we heard, this time a little clearer, “We’re done” at :43 and :53.
  • This was followed by “Here” at 1:01 as if to say that they were done with us in this location.

Recorder 15 – Spirit Box 15:

  • We did not take this hint and continued on. At :03, the Rempod placed in the hallway again was alerted.
  • As one of the owners spoke to them to try to get them to communicate with us, they suddenly sounded excited repeating “Hey!” at :10 and :12.
  • The excitement continued with “I know that voice” at :29 followed by the numbers “Four, five” at :33.
  • The owner who spoke had his name repeated twice with “Josh” at :53.

Recorder 16 – Spirit Box 16:

  • Immediately at the start of this recording, the name “Mason” was heard followed by “Dave” at :05.
  • Following this, a title of “Uncle” was heard at :07 followed by an odd name of “Chico” at :12.

Recorder 17 – Spirit Box 17:

  • The Ovilus produced the word ‘Closet’ at :14 followed by “My stuff” through the Spirit Box at :17.
  • Derrick’s name was heard repeated back to him at :35 but as we redirected our question regarding the closet, we asked if they were talking about the closet which Derrick had just approached and heard “Maybe” at :44.
  • The name “Claire” was captured at :50 then “What?” was recorded at :52 as if responding to the previously mentioned name.
  • Either “Drive” or “Dry” followed this at :57.

Recorder 18 – Spirit Box 18:

  • Unprompted, we heard “You’re” at :03.
  • As we asked about this and what it could mean, we heard “Welcome” at :05.
  • After we asked if Jennifer was with us, we heard a clear question of “Who?” at :15.
  • This was reiterated with “Who’s that?” at :25 then Dan’s name once more heard at :33
  • We then heard another name, one which we did hear earlier in the evening and during our previous investigation, of “Dave” at :27 then a cry for “Help” at :50.
  • Seemingly overhearing a phantom conversation, we heard a command of “Touch it” at :55 followed by a confirmation of “Yeah” at 1:04.
  • This all culminated, and actually tied together making sense, as the Rempod in the hallway was alerted at 1:19.

Recorder 19 – Spirit Box 19:

  • Suddenly, Dan was given a depiction of an older man wearing a military-esque jacket. A man who, as he described, resembled his own grandfather nut was clear that it was not his own relation. This occurred around :03. We did find out that there was a military jacket hanging in the aforementioned closet.
  • We responded to this asking what they said and heard another call out for “Help” at :13.
  • This was followed by a threat, or so we thought at the moment, of “Behind your back” at :33, however, we realized the closet was at our backs at that point in time.
  • As if beckoning us to continue down the hallway, we were first greeted with a “Hi” at :56 followed by Dan’s name once more at :57, and “Down here” at :59.

Recorder 20 – Spirit Box 20:

  • Once more, we were greeted with a repeating question of “Hello?” at :04 and :06.
  • We openly discussed the sentiment that Jennifer was no longer in the antique shop but were asked “Why?” at :24 as the Ovilus produced ‘Together’ and ‘Oxygen’ at :28.
  • A plea for “Help” echoed down the hall at :41 followed by a rather odd, yet clear,  greeting of “Howdy” at :44.

Recorder 21 – Spirit Box 21:

  • Another pair of desperation was heard at :01 and :05 with “Help.”

Recorder 22 – Spirit Box 22:

  • It was Derrick’s turn for his name to be repeated back to the group at :01, unprompted.

Recorder 23 – Camera Clipped Audio 1:

  • We did not have a recorder running at this time, but we were able to pull the audio from the video here as we moved from the Sunken Hallway toward the Middle Room. This first clip captures footsteps that seemed to follow us up the staircase at :15 as we were standing still.

Recorder 24 – Camera Clipped Audio 2:

  • As we began to set up our equipment in this next area, prior to actually recording, the K2 meter was pushed over at :08.
  • Similarly, the Spirit Box was forced over by an unseen energy at :30.

Video 1 – Trail Camera 1:

  • The Rempod could be seen alerting, lighting up and sounding, at :04.

Video 2 – Trail Camera 2:

  • At :06, the Rempod could be seen activating with no one close enough to it to set it off.

Video 3 – Handheld Camera 1:

  • There was nothing captured out of the ordinary here, but it gives an idea of how dark this hallway could truly become.

Video 4 – Clip On Body Camera 1:

  • The Rempod could be heard going off at :36 as if someone was moving close to it.
  • At 1:19, a knocking noise could be heard echoing down the hallway in which we were facing.
  • Again, the Rempod could be heard alerting at 3:54 but no one was close enough to falsely activate it.

Video 5 – Clip On Body Camera 2:

  • There was a very strange voice heard here at 3:38 but this was not recorded in any other device and was not at all clear to decipher.

Video 6 – Clip On Body Camera 3:

  • As we made our way out of this area toward the Middle Room we could hear footsteps seemingly following us at about :30.
  • At about 2:20, the K2 meter could be heard being pushed over followed by the Spirit Box duplicating this action at 3:10.

Video 7 – Clip On Body Camera 4:

  • The Rempod could be heard turning on at :06.

Video 8 – Clip On Body Camera 5:

  • In the hallway, the K2 meter was seen spiking at :28 and :33.

Video 9 – Clip On Body Camera 6:

  • As we were transitioning locations, footsteps could be heard following us here at :29.

Video 10 – Clip On Body Camera 7:

  • As we began to get our equipment out once more, the K2 meter was pushed over at :16 then the Spirit Box was knocked over at :45.

Middle Room – Second Floor

To the right hand side of the upstairs hallway, beyond the demising wall, a simplistic room shows off some spectacular antiques and is split in half by an antique dining table. This room housed an eclectic collection of antique plates, handcrafted vases, metal kettles, amongst so many other antique pieces squeezed in every inch of the room. While there haven’t been any documented experiences in this room, you could certainly feel an atmospheric shift the moment you enter it which is the particular reason we were drawn to spend some time here.

We did not spend much time in this room during our initial investigation but we did spend a little time in the room right behind it. While there, we did not gather any communication but we did hear footsteps and knocking noises from this direction which left us with a simply unexplained mindset regarding this area.

During our time here, we experienced everything from our names repeated to us to flashlights turning on and off answering yes/no questions to extremely high electromagnetic readings. This culminated in a spontaneous ESTES Method session where one investigator enters sense deprivation and simply repeats any words heard through the Spirit Box. While communicating this way for the duration of our investigative time, we gathered bits and pieces that explained that they wanted us to follow them down the hallway and that they responded much better to one of the owners as he entered the room in the middle of the session as if they were either more comfortable and knew him or were simply more curious about his presence and relation to the building. We were eventually told that they followed us here from the other room, which we physically could feel prior to this time period, but that they wanted us to leave here and go back to the previous hallway.

Photos:

  • This screen capture shows the trail camera capturing a light anomaly moving across the screen as one of the investigators felt that they felt something in the neighboring room where the camera was placed.

Recorder 1 – Spirit Box 1:

  • We ran the Spirit Box immediately as we entered the room and were met with a bit of negativity and a sense that we were intruding on them. At :05 we were told “Go away.”
  • Following this, we were also told “Out” at :08 but things seemed to change a little as we settled in with “Wait” at :34.

Recorder 2 – Spirit Box 2:

  • One of the investigators’ names was spoken through the device with “Dan” at :03 followed by “You” at :05 as if they wanted his attention.

Recorder 3 – Spirit Box 3:

  • We received some unsettling and ominous warnings beginning with “Hurt” at :05 and “You” at :13
  • This continued with “Warn” at :22 and “Dan,” once again, at :30.
  • Dan’s anime was again heard here at :33.

Recorder 4 – Spirit Box 4:

  • This unsettling exchange dissolved into a warmer greeting beginning with “One” at :01 then “You” at :05.
  • “Hello” was captured at :36 followed by deviations of this at :42 with “Hey” and again with “Hi” at :44.

Recorder 5 – Spirit Box 5:

  • At about :10, the electronic EMF meter jumped exceptionally followed by the flashlight turning on at :38.
  • We discussed if that light was previously on and a phantom voice answered with “Yeah” at :44.

Recorder 6 – Spirit Box 6:

  • Following the flashlight shutting off and another spike on the EMF meter, we started the ESTES Method. This happened so quickly that we did not have it set up correctly just yet but what the investigator began to hear through the noise cancelling headphones was captured starting with “You” at :28, “Believe” at :38, and “In what” at :50.
  • At this point, the listener paused as he felt something over his shoulder which was, luckily, visually captured on the trail camera.
  • This pause also helped us set the ESTES Method up correctly and record both sides of the conversation.

Recorder 7 – ESTES Method 1:

  • The investigator in the room could be heard notating that the K2 meter flashed on at :05 so he asked who was touching the green light to which we heard a response of “Us” at :23.
  • To clarify, we asked if there was someone touching the green light on the table and heard “Other” at :50 followed by “You’re” at :55.
  • Not heard by the listener, the Spirit Box did produce further words of “Want” and “Struggle” at 1:06 and 1:07 respectively after asking what they meant.
  • Following these, the listener did hear “You’re” once more at 1:08.
  • We asked ‘My what?’ and heard a response of “Drown” at 1:12 even though the listener thought it said drum. We’re unsure if this was a direct relation to the energy here drowning but the energy seemed to become slightly more aggressive at this point.

Recorder 8 – ESTES Method 2:

  • Unsure where to take this communication, we just continued to listen in but heard nothing in the moment but upon review we heard “Stuck” at :09, perhaps a name, “Butch” at :37, and “Bad” at :41.
  • “How?” was then heard at 1:25 and “Leave” followed at 1:27 as if asking us how they could leave.
  • This was all followed by a rather odd, yet intelligent, exchange of “How’s work?” at 1:30 answered with “Bad” at 2:08.

Recorder 9 – ESTES Method 3:

  • With nothing more seeming to come through, at least not clear, the investigator in the room reached forward to get the investigator out of sense deprivation but almost simultaneously the Spirit Box provided us with the word “Don’t” at :01.
  • An odd combination of phrases was captured on the Spirit Box but not in the moment starting with “Leave” at :07 then “Or I’ll” at :10, and finally “Follow” at :19.
  • We asked if they were back with us now and heard “I” at :28 and “Not” at :30.
  • Naturally, we pursued this by asking ‘You’re not what?’ and captured a response of “Out” at :33.
  • At 1:11, we seemingly got an answer with “Out” so we asked if they’re not here with us then where are they and heard “Your right” at 1:20 as if to the investigator’s right side.
  • This was followed by “Hallway” at 1:33 even though it was not realized in person.

Recorder 10 –ESTES Method 4:

  • After waiting a bit of time for the conversation to continue, we asked if they were planning on coming back in with us and, at :15, we captured “I reckon.”
  • The energy in the room shifted so we asked if they made their way back in and recorded “Back” at :40 as if confirming this.
  • We wanted further confirmation though and reiterated with a question of ‘You just came back?’ and heard “Here” at :51.

Recorder 11 – ESTES Method 5:

  • During this segment, one of the owners joined us mid-session and was greeted by these unseen energies with “Josh” at :09.
  • We were then told “Three” at :12 and “Here” at :22.
  • Dan’s name was then repeated two times at :25 and :34.

Recorder 12 – ESTES Method 6:

  • We were told that they were “Ready” at :10 and again at :14.
  • Following this, we asked if that meant they’re ready to talk to us, to which we heard a response of “Down” at :23.
  • As we questioned them as to what that meant, we heard some further communication with “Feel” at 1:05, “Free” at 1:10, and “Come” at 1:13.
  • This seemed to be reworded with a more simplistic phrase of “Come down” at 1:16.
  • We pursued this, asking if they wanted us to go back somewhere and were told to “Get” at 1:42 and “Back” at 1:44, really avoiding the question.

Recorder 13 – ESTES Method 7:

  • Once more, we asked if they wanted us to go back somewhere and heard “Out here” at :06 as if they were out in the hallway as they previously alluded to.
  • At :37, even though the listener heard back, what we heard during the review was “Go.”
  • While we pursued this, we asked ‘Back where?’ and heard a response of “Here” at :46.
  • Josh’s name was first heard here, unprompted, at :52 then once again at 1:19 after we mentioned that they should keep talking.
  • With that, we heard “Talk” twice at 1:28 and 1:36.
  • We put this together and asked if they wanted Josh to talk to which we heard a questioning response of “Why do you ask?” at 1:42 then a partial answer of “Maybe” at 2:11.

Recorder 14 –ESTES Method 8:

  • We attempted to offer our services to them but were only questioned by this with “How?” at :01 followed by “Help” at :10 and :13.
  • As if we didn’t respond fast enough, we were greeted with an impatient “Hello?” at :16 with the question of “How?” once again repeated at :20.
  • After asking if we could help again, ignoring their questions, we heard “Maybe” at :24 then an almost confused additional question of “Why?” at :30.

Recorder 15 – ESTES Method 9:

  • As we asked if there was anything else they wanted to tell us, they accepted this and told us “Leaving” at :02 then practically commanded us to “Follow” at :07.
  • This changed to more of a plea with “Come” at :12.
  • We attempted to make sense of this and asked if they followed us from the other room and heard “Other room” at :19.
  • Suddenly, a voice cried out with the name “Mary” at :26 then “My little” at :27 followed by “Heart” at :29.
  • We were perplexed but once again told to “Go” at :48 and “Back” at :54 but this was elaborated as they continued with “One” at :59 and “More” at 1:04 followed by “Minute” at 1:10 and finally “Please” at 1:12.

Video 1 – Trail Camera 1:

  • A light anomaly could be seen toward the center of the frame in this clip.

Video 2 – Trail Camera 2:

  • At around :04, another light could be seen moving from the bottom right toward the center of the room as if coming out of hiding.

Video 3 – Trail Camera 3:

  • A similar scenario seemed to play out here from the previous clip as the light moved out from under the antique furniture in the center of the frame at :09.

Video 4 – Trail Camera 4:

  • We attached this as an example of dust particles moving about, activating this camera.

Video 5 – Clip On Body Camera 1:

  • After we explained that they can step forward and knock on something, a knock response was heard at :19 and again at :47.

Clothing Room – Second Floor

Up the stairs from the Sunken Hallway, a nicely decorated and simplistic room featuring a plethora of clothing articles from jackets and shirts to hats to shoes are all displayed in this room. Toward the exterior of the building, straight back from the doorway is a large glass case which is used to display even more decorative pieces behind a glass layer of protection. This area would have been a living space of an apartment during the early years of the general store, although with all the updates and changes over time, it’s slightly difficult to picture this..

During our initial investigation, we did get pulled in this direction but ultimately did not spend much time here as no one was openly communicating with us. We do believe we encountered some residual hauntings here but there was no identification of these energies outside of the passing odd sensation, phantom footstep, or random Rempod action.

Following the communication in the Sunken Hallway, we all needed a bit of a break but as we attempted to head back downstairs, we were pulled further down the hall with a feeling of someone’s presence watching us from this darkened room. Although we attempted to pinpoint who this was, we were ultimately left with the exact same feeling as we got from our first visit. We had plenty of energy altering moments with the flashlights and K2 meter, even a Rempod once, but none of this culminated in anything intelligent as from one particular moment early on where we were given a direct response to our question – then nothing further.

Photos:

  • There was nothing abnormal captured in this room.

Recorder 1 – EVP 1:

  • We noticed some of our devices being alerted around the room so we asked directly if there was anyone in this room. To our astonishment, and not at all heard at the moment, we heard a response of “Me” at :09. Obviously not helpful but certainly perplexing, shifting our thoughts of residual energy to intelligence, although this was the extent of our communication with this rather remarkable single word response.

Video 1 – Clip On Body Camera 1:

  • A strange whistling sound was captured here at :31, unprompted.

Up Couples Room

Our coined terminology of the Up Couples Room stayed relatively the same as our initial visit so, naturally, we held up this namesake. The room still reminds us of the sweet, warm, and welcoming couple from the movie Up. This room simply opens up out of the enclosed hallway and is situated on the opposite end of the Sunken Hallway from the Library. There was enough seating mixed amongst the antiques here from rockers to dining room chairs with end tables, dressers, and decor sat atop all of these furniture pieces. The area alone is situated with a welcoming tone but the energies here add that extra confirmation needed to convince us that they are open and willing to accept guests into their area.

Our first investigation began slowly here, but as they got to know us a little bit, things picked up starting with knocks and the random flashlight activity. This was followed by verbal communication through the Spirit Box via the ESTES Method where one investigator wears noise canceling headphones connected to the spirit box and wears an eye mask so as to not be able to see anything. Each word heard in the headphones is said aloud, not knowing the context of the responses. We heard much communication referring to family heirlooms and the antiques inside the room, the most convincing was the word “Table” as we discussed the decorations placed above the coffee table in the room which we set out a flashlight to further communicate in different ways. Our time here was cut short as we agreed to move along as we were told to “Go” and to be “Gone” just as we noticed a shadow moving down the Sunken Hallway toward our group seemingly pushing the older couple aside, perhaps out of the room altogether.

We were drawn to this area next, where we had so many experiences and open communication during our initial investigation. Our time here, once again, started off slow. But as we attempted just a quiet EVP session, footsteps were heard coming down the hallway towards us. Even though no one seemed to want to speak with us, we set out flashlights and gained a slew of responses to yes/no questions. We offered to let them come close to our tools and even push some of them over to which they obliged, even though it took some time, as the flashlight set on top of a dresser was physically knocked to the floor. This prompted us to attempt further communication through the Spirit Box as we were given opposing interactions from warm greetings to gruff and firm commands to convince us to move on.

Photos:

  • There were moments when the flashlights were captured lighting up on video so we were able to take a screen capture of some of these moments.

Recorder 1 – EVP 1:

  • Early on in our time in this room, we sat in silence until we heard the creaking of footsteps echoing down the Sunken Hallway at :09 lasting until about :14.

Recorder 2 – Transcription 1:

  • This timeframe was also most valuable to notate the flashlight activity which comes best through a transcription of this investigative period rather than providing any evidence.
  • We heard footsteps in the hall and asked directly if they could come in to which the K2 meter placed in the center of the room spiked at :24.
  • With no further communication, we asked if there was anyone in the hall if they could come close to the pink light (Spirit Light) and the K2 meter in the center of the room again jumped at 2:51.
  • We asked if they would be willing to speak with us through flashlights, like they did last time, if we asked yes and no questions. At 8:55, the flashlight lit up.
  • After asking if they could turn the light back off, they complied at 9:19.
  • Utilizing the rules of the yes/no game, we began to set our foundation as we asked if they could turn the flashlight on if they are willing to speak with us and at 10:00 the flashlight turned on then flickered off.
  • We explained that there were a few different flashlights around the room and, as if they acknowledged this comment, the light turned on at 10:15.
  • After asking them to shut it off, they did so at 10:54.
  • Trying to set the foundation for questioning once again, we asked them to light it up if they understood the rules to the game and, at 11:50, the flashlight turned on as if agreeing.
  • We explained that they have to turn it back off if they would like us to ask another question and, at 12:11, it turned off.
  • We asked if they were the same people we spoke with during our last visit and the flashlight jumped to life at 12:49 just as the second flashlight turned on at 13:08.
  • At 13:27, the second flashlight shut back off after we asked them to do so, allowing us to ask more questions. The first flashlight shut off as well at 14:05.
  • We asked if they had an association with the building and both flashlights jumped on simultaneously at 14:38. They both shut off at the same time a second later.
  • With both lights being activated, we asked if there was more than one energy here and, at 15:25, the first flashlight turned on.
  • We furthered this question and asked if someone could come close to the second flashlight and turn it on if they were also with us and, astonishingly, the second flashlight turned on at 15:34.
  • After they both shut back off, we asked if they lived here. At 15:54, the first flashlight turned on then back off.
  • As we tried to pinpoint their era, we asked if they lived here during the 1800’s to which the flashlight turned on at 17:42.
  • With the first flashlight staying on, we asked if there were two of them who lived here during the 1800’s and the second flashlight turned on at 18:21.
  • As both flashlights remained on, we were left stunned just as a third flashlight jumped to life at 18:30.
  • At 18:50, after we asked if they could turn the lights back off, all three shut off.
  • We asked if there were actually three people living in this building during the 1800’s and the first flashlight turned on very slightly at 19:14.
  • As we tried to gain a better response to this, we asked if they could turn it brighter to which they emphatically agreed to do at 19:32 lasting for about ten seconds until it shut off.
  • We asked if they were from the same family and all three flashlights turned on at 19:53, but they did so before we could finish asking the question.
  • After we recognized this but still wanted to pursue the question, we asked if they could turn them all off so we could get a better confirmation and they all shut off at 20:30.
  • We repeated the previous question asking if they were family and the first flashlight turned on at 20:49 as if a ‘yes’ response.
  • As we waited to see if there were any other flashlights which were going to turn on, we asked in passing if that’s difficult to do and the second flashlight turned on at 21:50 then the third flashlight turned on at 22:07.
  • Still astonished, we waited to see if they would shut the lights off on their own and they did so after dimming first then completely turning off at 22:25.
  • We noted that the temperature dropped from the high 70’s to the low 60’s in an instant right around 23:45.
  • After we asked if there was something keeping them here, the first flashlight turned on then off at 24:13.
  • Elaborating on this thought, we asked if they left something incomplete and the first flashlight turned on as if a ‘yes’ response at 25:14.
  • We asked these energies if they believed their presence here would help make this incomplete act occur and the second flashlight jumped on at 25:28.
  • We openly asked them if they could push over a flashlight like they did last time at 27:23, which ties into the next clip.
  • At 27:23, the flashlights remained on, and the temperatures dropped even further.

Recorder 3 – EVP 2:

  • The flashlight could be heard being pushed off the table as if they completed our request from a moment ago.

Recorder 4 – EVP 3:

  • There was a strange, and slightly off-putting whistling heard here at :05.

Recorder 5 – Spirit Box 1:

  • As we simply began this session, naming the recording, the word “Portal” was heard repeated back to us at :08.
  • The room temperature dropped and was noted at :36 as we were then greeted with a repeated “Hey” at :51 and :56.

Recorder 6 – Spirit Box 2:

  • A soft spoken command of “Out” was recorded at :09.

Recorder 7 – Spirit Box 3:

  • We were further greeted with “Hey” at :04 and “Hello” at :12.

Recorder 8 – Spirit Box 4:

  • While we questioned the greetings  and if they were meant for us we heard another “Hey” at :08.
  • We directly asked what they said and once more heard “Hey” at :13.
  • After asking if they said hey, once more “Hey” was captured at :17 as if definitively confirming this.

Recorder 9 – Spirit Box 5:

  • It seemed as though someone was interacting with our devices, we mentioned that they were a spirit and, as if playing into this, “Boo” was recorded at :02.

Recorder 10 – Spirit Box 6:

  • As we sat in silence, recollecting our gameplan, we were commanded to “Speak” at :04.
  • Following this, we were told to “Look” at :25.
  • While we were unsure of what they were trying to tell us we explained that we were waiting on them. At :43, we were seemingly mocked with “Wait.”

Recorder 11 – Spirit Box 7:

  • We asked if they were trying to right some injustice but heard a response of “No” at :44.

Recorder 12 – Spirit Box 8:

  • We explained that they did not have any further responsibilities and they don’t owe anyone anything but, chillingly, we heard “Children” at :38 as if to say they left their children behind.

Recorder 13 – Spirit Box 9:

  • After explaining to them that they can move on, they seemed to grasp this with a confirmation of “Got it” at :28.

Recorder 14 – Spirit Box 10:

  • We gently told them that if they had nothing further to say that we would have to move on. At :17, we were indeed told to “Go.”

Video 1  – Handheld Camera 1:

  • We attempted to get the K2 meter spiking on video but unfortunately in this clip, nothing occurred.

Video 2  – Handheld Camera 2:

  • Immediately seen in this video, the flashlight flickers.
  • It eventually stays on until the energies finally stepped away from it, turning it off.

Video 3  – Handheld Camera 3:

  • Once more, the flashlight could be seen flickering then turning off completely.
  • Offscreen, the second flashlight could be seen flickering just as the main flashlight was also seen flickering simultaneously.
  • Again, the offscreen flashlight could be vaguely seen turning on and off.

Video 4  – Handheld Camera 4:

  • At :05, the flashlight was seen turning on then back off at :36.

Video 5  – Handheld Camera 5:

  • Right away, the flashlight was seen flickering until it turned on completely at :05.
  • At :08, the flashlight turned off.
  • Offscreen, the ambient light of the second flashlight could be seen flickering at :12.

Video 6  – Handheld Camera 6:

  • At :03, the flashlight was physically pushed off the shelf.

Video 7  – Stationary Camera 1:

  • At :02, the K2 meter was seen spiking.
  • The flashlight followed here by turning on at :17.
  • The K2 meter once again spiked here at :44.
  • For a duration of time, from :52 – 1:19, the flashlight flickered on and off.
  • The flashlight again flickered at 1:45 until it stayed lit at 2:15.
  • We asked them if they could please turn the light off and, at 2:34, it shut off.
  • After we asked if they could light the flashlight if they’re associated with the building, the flashlight turned on at 3:43. Just two seconds later, at 3:45, the second flashlight turned on as well.
  • At 4:02, the first flashlight shut off followed by the second one shutting off at 4:10 after we asked them to do so.
  • With both lights being activated, we asked if there was more than one energy here with us when the flashlight turned abc on at4:30.
  • We asked if someone else could turn the other flashlight on and, at 4:40, the second flashlight did turn on.
  • After both lights shut back off, we asked if they lived here in the past, and the flashlight turned on at 5:00 as if a ‘yes’ response.
  • Following the flashlight shutting off again, we asked if they lived here in the 1800’s. At 6:44, the flashlight turned on signifying another ‘yes’ response.
  • While the first light stayed on, we asked if another energy could turn yet another flashlight on. At 7:28, the second flashlight turned on and at 7:30, the third flashlight jumped to life for the first time.
  • We asked if they could shut off all the flashlights and, at 7:55, all three flashlights shut off.
  • After we asked if they were all living here at the same time, the flashlight turned on at 8:15, once again signifying a ‘yes.’
  • While the light came on a little dim, we asked if they could make it brighter. At 8:40, the flashlight did get brighter, confirming their previous response of ‘yes.’
  • At 8:45, this flashlight shut back off.
  • The flashlight provided us with another ‘yes’ as it turned on at 9:03 after we asked if they were from the same family.
  • We had to ask them to turn this back off, and they obliged, at 9:34.
  • After we asked if they were all in the same family, the flashlight turned on at 9:52.
  • We asked them if this was difficult to do in order to communicate with us and, at 10:55, the flashlight flickered followed by the second flashlight turning on at 11:10.
  • Turning the conversation, we asked if they had any type of unsettled business to which the flashlight turned on at 12:40.
  • The second flashlight turned on at 13:00 as the room grew noticeably colder.
  • After the flashlights all shut off, we asked if they feel that they left something incomplete to which they responded through the flashlight activation with ‘yes’ at 13:20.
  • Once the flashlight reset again, we asked if they believed that their presence here would help make things complete to which the flashlight helped answer a ‘yes’ at 14:10.
  • After the flashlight flickered out we mentioned that this sentiment was good to which the flashlight turned on again, as if agreeing, at 14:30.
  • The room, again, grew colder yet at about 16:30.
  • As we mentioned this colder sensation, the flashlight jumped to life at 16:40, perhaps just acknowledging this.
  • We mentioned to them that we would listen later and see if they told us anything and, at 17:10, the flashlight turned on as if to tell us they did try to verbally communicate.
  • As the light turned back off, we explained to them that they do not have to stay here and that they are allowed to transition to the other side and the flashlight turned on at 17:40 as if once again acknowledging this.
  • After we expanded upon this, we told them that there was no further business for them here and the flashlight shut off at 18:03.
  • We asked them directly if they were aware that they could move on and the flashlight turned on at 19:15 giving us a ‘yes’ response followed by the light turning back off at 20:00.
  • Unprompted, the K2 meter spiked at 20:05.
  • We mentioned again that they no longer have any responsibilities and that they are free to which the flashlight turned on at 21:03.
  • After explaining that we appreciate their efforts and willingness to speak to us, the flashlight turned on for a final time at 21:11.

Crystal Figure Room – First Floor

On the first floor, just outside the previously explored and nicknamed Indian Head Room (which was completely changed and atmosphere altered) this room is strewn with crystals and figurines and silverwares. Against the far wall, there is an oval mirror placed at eye level reflecting the entirety of the room back toward visitors.

The first investigation, we glossed over this area as we were drawn much more toward the rear room but this small hallway, leading to a dead end, did give us some unsettled feelings but nothing that told us there was anyone here who would be willing to speak or interact with us.

Even though we had every intention of actively investigating this area, our timeframe just didn’t allot for it. We were initially drawn here during a simple walkthrough in order to document the building and all of its spaces. As we approached this hall, one of the investigators’ ears began ringing, so much so that it forced him to pause what he was doing and recollect himself. That sensation was enough to place a trail camera toward this area just to have some type of equipment here in hopes of capturing any anomalies that may occur in this area. Luckily, there was one moment during the entire night which provided us with some intriguing insight. There was a light anomaly captured in the trail camera but more than that, it seemed to produce a darker shadow which seemingly disappeared only to reappear inside the mirror showing a full body shadow in the reflection which simply made no sense in the slightest. This was only noticed during our review period as we had no in-person evidence or experiences.

  • We included a screen capture of the trail camera which shows a shadow moving in the mirror.

Video 1  – Trail Camera 1:

  • During this clip, two things were captured.
  • The first was a light and shadow moving toward the right hand side at about :06.
  • More incredibly here, at :10, a shadow could be seen moving in the lower portion of the mirror.

After spending hours upon hours scouring through our recordings, videos, and sharing our personal experiences, all of which occurred during our second paranormal investigation of the Wexford General Antique Store in Wexford, PA, we have the utmost confidence to provide our conclusion that the former general store / apartment building turned antique shop is a hub for unnatural paranormal phenomena and hosts multiple energies which cannot be explained. These energies, however, appear to be drawn to this particular location based more so on the building and its history and warm, welcoming owners, rather than the antiques that are displayed and sold inside its original exterior walls.

With this follow up investigation, we were able to confirm past experiences of the unexplained while making more headway with new information and communication from energies on the other side. We have a thorough belief that the energies in this historic building have shifted or, at least, have the ability to come and go as they please. The stronger forces we communicated with during our initial night spent here had either left completely or were not interested in us this time – that is, aside from the couple in the Up Couples Room. While we cannot verify why, the belief is that some of these energies are drawn to particular rooms throughout the property. They may not necessarily be confined to them, but they definitely hold some in higher regard than others.

The identities of these energies were never provided to us forthright but we did capture plenty of names which we believe are associated with these remnant energies. The two rooms which provided the most identities were the Womans’ Room and the Library. While in the Womans’ Room, we were told that someone named “Charlie” was responsible for knocking the flashlight over and that he was responsible for some other noises like footsteps. It did appear as though this energy may be some type of jokester, stirring things up. The name “Michael” and “Michelle” were both additionally recorded here but they were never tied to the building or any of the antiques.

The Library provided us with even more names and seemingly all over the place. There were three names that were provided to us after we asked them directly for their name. The first name was “Adam” which was followed by “Everliegh” and finally “Charlie.” This final name was the most curious as it seemed to tie into the Womans’ Room on the first floor where Charlie was blamed for knocking the flashlight over. There were further names which were unprompted and simply meant less to us because of that fact, but they were recorded one by one starting with “Mason” continuing with “Claire” ending with “Dave” which did strike a chord as we captured this name during our initial investigation. The final name given to us was “Raymond” and this did follow our questioning for their name.

The evening was a rollercoaster ride of emotion and energy shifts. Each room seemed to exert the same types of apprehension initially, each independently slowly opening up beginning with minimal energy-activated devices leading up to more verbal communication. We were given multiple communication rhetoric stretching from warm greetings to strained warnings trying to convince us to leave even to intelligent communication allowing us to actually communicate with these unseen entities. The greetings were quite simplistic and repetitive with multiple versions of “Hi” and “Hello” and even “Hey.” The more negative connotations stretched from some more simplistic, single word communication such as “Leave” or “Go” or “Out,” which certainly happened on multiple occasions, to multi-word phrases such as “Get out” and “Go away.” Those opposites of emotion were mainly experienced in the Sunken Hallway / Library and the Up Couples Room. Naturally, in the Up Couples Room we were much better received, with more warmth, than the coldness of being pushed along as we were in the Sunken Hallway.

The more intelligent conversations helped guide us through the Womans’ room where we were told to “Look” and “Watch this” and “Shelf” as the crystal could be seen physically moving. We were also told that “It was Charlie” who pushed over the flashlight. The Middle Room, on the second floor, provided us with yet another facet of intelligence as we were told that there was an unseen energy who followed us from the hallway and actually wanted us to “Leave” and “Follow” them back to the “Hallway.”

While the verbal communication was nothing short of incredible, the most consistent and continuous conversation we had was with the utilization of our LED flashlights. This was most noticeable in the Womans’ Room and the Up Couples Room. In the Womans’ Room, we received a strong foundation of confirmation that they both understood the devices and how to properly answer them. They also helped us determine that they were certainly in the room with us, using the other devices (Rempod and K2 meter), and that they wanted to speak to us with a different tool.

The Up Couples Room helped us further our information gathered from our initial investigation as we managed to decipher, early on, that this was the same couple that we previously communicated with in the past. This couple elaborated further that there was a third member of their family present and that they lived here in the past. They continued to open up to us in this regard as we narrowed down their lifetime to the 1800’s. To follow this, we ensured that they realized they could move along and that they did not have to stay here. With the flashlights, they confirmed that they understood this but they still felt that their presence would help them finalize some piece of business they left unfinished.

In addition to the actual communication, whether it be energy shifting or verbal, there were multiple indications that the energies could physically manipulate their surroundings. These occurrences were both experienced in person and captured on multiple devices. The interactions included crystals, placed on a shelf, moving on their own with some unseen force making them sway side to side while nothing else in the vicinity even showed the slightest movement. A flashlight, which was previously used for yes/no communication, was forcibly knocked over after a long period of time. We openly offered to let them knock these devices over but it only occurred after a period of about twenty minutes of clear on/off communication followed by silence. To us, this told us that they were still with us and the time period coincided with a change of communication device.

With all the communication and device activation, sometimes causing distractions to the process, did not amount to the ethereal visions which appeared to our team. On two separate occasions and in two separate locations, we received a flash of full-body imagery. This was depicted early on inside the room we dubbed the Womans’ Room. Appropriately, a full figured woman appeared right behind the shelf where the flashlight was placed, turning on and off, as well as the crystal that was witnessed moving, seemingly, on its own. This woman appeared to stand approximately four and a half feet tall with soft white hair curled behind her ears. She was explained to be wearing what was sensed as a nightgown. She appeared to us as we were trying to show patience and gratitude, explaining how thrilled we were that she was coming forward to speak with us and that she could take as much time as she needed, as we understood this experience to take massive amounts of energy.

Later on in the evening, and on a completely different floor from the elderly woman, an older man stepped forward with a willingness to show himself to us on the second floor inside the Sunken Hallway. As we were pulled out into the hallway, from inside the Library, with Rempod activations, footsteps, and even an unsettling sensation, it was apparent from the get-go that there was a stronger presence here. After this man eventually loosened up, our names were repeated and we were directed down the hallway, toward the closet, all the while being warned that there was someone behind us. With this whirlwind of energy engulfing the enclosed space, there must have been enough energy for this elderly gentleman to step forward and show himself to our group. He was explained as a kindly older man, even extremely reminiscent of one of our grandfathers’ but it was explicitly noted that it was not. This man was draped in his military garb, at least his jacket, whereas his lower section was indecipherable, and he appeared to be quite frail. This man seemed to be quite friendly and was guiding us toward the hallway closet, so much so that he followed us out of this area to join us in the next room where he attempted to draw us back to the Sunken Hallway. It’s unknown why he appeared so desperate but there was nothing apparent, at least to us at the moment.

Our follow up investigation was mainly guided by a combination of our unnatural sensations combined with the results of our first paranormal investigation. The results helped prove some prior claims but, with the ever changing and shifting energies, we were unable to pursue too many of our initial outcomes as most of the previously discovered energies either moved on or simply were no longer present inside the old antique shop. Those who we connected with during the first go-round, particularly Jennifer and Dave, did not seem to remain here. Their names were repeated back to us but more so in a questioning tone as if the present energies were confused about them.

There was one particular couple who did in fact remain here and even seemed to grow more comfortable with us, remembering our previous visit. The pair in the Up Couple’s Room claimed that they were still inside the shop, elaborating on their past and even opening up to us about their growing numbers and family. If there were any negative connotations from the first visit, they all but vanished but what did remain is the somewhat eclectic collection of energies which tend to be on a constant circulation but being drawn back here all the same.

The reason for the amount of energies which choose to remain, from what we were told from the initial investigation, is the unique collections of antiques but more so the owners of the store. In particular, their warmth, hospitality, and open-mindedness were all previously discussed but, while these attributes were not explicitly re-stated during our follow up investigation, the owners certainly were discussed. What’s even more powerful than this was the energies responses to the owners interacting with them, simply how excited they were to openly speak to them as well as follow them tend to be much more open and communicative when they were present.

As was the case from our first investigation of the Wexford Antiques General Store, we were extremely grateful for the opportunity to spend some dedicated time to the building. With so much history in the town of Wexford, PA, we are well aware that there is a certain amount not necessarily documented properly but rather passed down by word of mouth. Knowing this regarding the town, we’re sure this historic property where the town’s general store has always been located would have been given the same treatment. We are honored to be given the trust and respect to open the doors to the history of this building and do our very best to uphold the integrity and morals that have been a key component of every owner of the general store ever since its inception up to its current antique store owners.

Our hope, and true purpose, is to help preserve history and keep it alive so future generations can continue to admire and learn from the past while respecting those who have come before. While the initial steps were taken, back in 2022, we strive to build upon our findings and document everything we encounter from actions to names in hopes that anyone who comes after us can pick up where we leave off. This sentiment does not simply apply to the paranormal realm either; all it takes is for someone to be open-minded, warm-hearted, or simply curious to help continue to put the puzzle pieces together. Joining as a team, one day, we may be able to finally tell the true story of former employees, owners, and even anyone who simply loved this property or the antiques that are housed here, sharing a space with unseen energies all of whom call this beautiful, historic building known as the Wexford Antiques General Store a home for all eternity.
