Following the incredibly successful second annual Mars Spooktacular, special guests who donated toward the preservation of the history of the town joined us in the after hours paranormal investigation. We ran two separate investigations splitting the main corps of our team, sending half to the After Hours Tattoo Studio and the other to the Social Club Barbershop. These two storefronts are only three buildings apart so this allowed those who opted to participate in these investigations to take their pick of location and even float back and forth if they preferred. 

 

Our previous involvement with both of these shops have always been combined. Our decision to split them up comes from the sheer amount of experiences we’ve captured over time from each and the dedication we felt each truly deserved. In addition, we want to also focus on more of the here and now aspect of these investigations particularly the supernatural experiences we encounter along the way. While we are in no way, shape, or form ignoring the history or past investigations completed of the Social Club Barbershop we thought it would be much more beneficial to break out the latest investigation in its entirety. In this fashion, we will be able to include more of our personal experiences and break out the evidence further as well as keep some moments open-ended to allow for those who investigated alongside us to add to this with their inputs and any additional evidence they may have gathered.

 

 

To make things a bit easier, we have included the brief histories and previous investigations below. Do keep note, they will be listed as the After Hours Tattoo Shop rather than the Social Club Barbershop as we previously joined this location together with the aforementioned tattoo shop.

The Social Club Barbershop has always had a strange draw for us during our past investigations, this public investigation following the second annual Mars Spooktacular was no less captivating. Our review period included our corps team stepping aside a bit more and opening our documentation to those others who joined us that evening. This review included everything from captured evidence to personal experiences, and some attempts to debunk previous investigations as well as some during this investigation itself.

 

 

Our past experiences here have pulled us in numerous directions. There never seems to be a particular atmospheric energy draping over the location but the entire basement is definitely where the energy is felt. Sometimes this comes across as a thickness weighing heavily on your chest hiding in the darkness or a warm and light energy reaching out and begging for attention. We do believe that the darkness is someone controlling, keeping the other energies quiet and even placing claim over the area trying to force visitors out of their space. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the welcoming energy seems to be that of a young girl, seemingly a slave, who is simply trying to gain guests’ attention and just wanting her existence to be known. These sensations held to be true and consistent during this time underground.

 

 

This investigation proved to be fruitful in more ways than one. We managed to confirm that there are conflicting energies here thanks, in no small part, to our sensitives who could feel that this little girl was seemingly hiding in the corner. These sensations continued to pick up what we’ve felt in the past with the darker, more negative type energy beginning in the back corner under the steps eventually shifting out of this corner into the enclosed storage and utility space. This energy definitely seems to get more active as investigators focus more on the young girl in the same area as if this negativity does not like her gaining attention and even potentially communicating. 

 

During this second public investigation, the far side in the back corner seemed to be a stronger location for the young girl where she was willing to step forward and communicate through flashlights and K2 meters gathering yes/no answers to our questions. She seemed to slowly retreat through the evening as the darkness under the staircase began transitioning out into the open space. Under the staircase, where we’ve captured a pair of looming red eyes and felt this more negative energy in the past, this darker force stepped forward here again mainly with atmospheric changes including cold spots and even physical manifestations to gain the group’s attention with pipe banging and knocking noises as they made too much conversation with the younger girl.

 

We pursued an increased communication in an attempt to gain names, from either the girl or the darker figure, but the more we pushed the less activity we received from the younger girl. This almost seemed to allow the negativity to extend its reach at that point. While we attempted an ESTES method (essentially sense deprivation while listening intently to the Spirit Box) to further communicate with the younger girl, the darker energy clearly stepped in and forced her out of the area while telling the investigator to “Stop” numerous times. This change of area energy was clearly felt by all members involved and ultimately led to our investigation ending as everyone felt this “Stop” communication was strong and clear.

 

 

Our recordings, videos, and pictures from this third paranormal investigation (second open to the public as part of the Mars Spooktacular) of the Social Club Barbershop have all been attached below. Within every moment, we notated what we experienced and our interpretations of each including our sensitives’ sensations. This also includes guest investigators’ personal experiences and anything they each captured as well. Feel open to share your thoughts on each moment and add your own interpretation as this can help increase the positivity and backup of these claims.

Pre-Investigation: Mars Spooktacular 2024 and Investigation Preparation

 

While we did not spend much time doing any type of walkthrough, as we’ve spent hours upon hours in this building, we did allow guests to come in to take a look around and gather a feel for this space. Regardless, our initial perception of this space was that the energies were a bit heavier on our chests but also felt the presence of a warm and welcoming energy but that came in small and quick fleeting moments. At first these feelings came through as though someone was watching from a distance but as the night progressed this certainly altered. The darkness was clearly felt on a sixth sense level from under the staircase and was contained in this particular spot but, much like the warmer sensation, this too changed and stretched outward.

 

With the excessive noise coming through from the event out on the street and the reptile guy (one of the vendors from the Mars Spooktacular who has become a staple of the event) positioned up above, we opted to not leave out recorders but we did utilize our trail cameras during the entire day of the event. These cameras did not pick up anything out of the ordinary and were much better utilized during the active investigation to show flashlights turning on and off.

Main Investigation

 

Much like the tattoo shop, this barbershop does not span over a humongous layout based on square footage. What this location does have is a full length basement which is where the majority of the unearthly energies are tied to. We have encountered some oddities on the first floor but nothing compares to the basement on a regular, consistent basis. Based on this, the group decided to stick with the basement and pursue identities and any information we could gather in that dark area. Directly in front of the staircase which led downstairs there are block walls which incorporate the entire entire. As visitors slowly gain their vision in the pitch black, their vision works their way around the room coming first to the corner where the little girl has been previously spotted and even captured through the thermal camera in the past. Past this corner there is a utility and storage closet which typically leads to unsettling sensations but wrapping around past the further storage areas past another corner which is quite unapproachable due to its function is the darker corner under the staircase. This last stretch here is where the majority of visitors feel completely unwelcomed and some have actually been chased out of this area. The tall, red eyes have been captured here before which is a perfect way of explaining how this darkness feels; bigger than life and pushes intruders away, out of this area, off of this floor, and in some cases, out of the building.

 

The investigation saw a simple beginning, with EVP’s and a settling into position. Initially, the group felt as though there was a whisper regarding who was in the area but upon a thorough review, this was deemed to be an investigator whispering as she began a secondary recorder off to the side. Even though this moment was debunked, the group had already made their way toward the back of the room pursuing the darkness only to be greeted with an unsettling knock. This was repeated, but this second time was as if it was against a hollow piece of metal which we considered, still consider at this time, to be some type of pipe.

 

While the group turned its focus back to the warmth of the young girl and attempt to gain her identity, the flashlight helped answer questions that she was a little girl, that she was in fact scared, and that she would huddle in the corner sometimes crying when the other energy came out of its hiding place. The Ovilus gave a few identities such as Jordan and Mason but none of these were verified being that young girl nor that darker force. Instead, that dark force remained nameless, genderless, and perhaps even not human. 

 

Some undecipherable whispers were heard but never truly understood, this led to the team utilizing the ETSES method in hopes of reaching out to this girl and helping her remain calm and not scared. Unfortunately, with this, the darkness seemed to gain more strength and felt powerful enough to leave its enclosed space under the staircase. The energy was felt shifting as the little girl fell back to the corner and became completely terrified as the negativity approached the utility closet forcing some individuals here feeling completely unsettled and not welcomed. This attempt seemingly worked inversely as the darkness approached the area even telling the investigators to “Stop” while physically touching others with a coldness and culminating in chair imploding while an investigator was sitting on it!

 

 

The timing here was immaculate as the investigators time here had elapsed and it was indeed time to close up and move on. We do not subscribe to coincidence so this timeframe was perhaps the best case scenario to leave this dark area and the negativity to be forced back to its hiding under the stairs.

Recorder 1 – EVP 1:

 

 

• Early on, as the group was getting settled in, there was a knocking noise heard echoing from under the footsteps. This could be heard at :04.

 

Recorder 2 – Transcription 1:

 

 

• While this segment mainly focused on the flashlight and the Ovilus, none of this could be described as paranormal evidence but there was intelligent communication helping tell us who and why. Due to this, a transcription was the best way to document these findings.
• Early during this discussion, we explained how to use some of the tools. After we asked them to turn the light to red to show us that they could use the K2 meter, at 1:29 it spiked all the way up to red.
• There was a very long time before anything else occurred following this, but at 11:51, there was a knocking noise heard underneath the stairs, similar to those we heard earlier. This was also separated and further analyzed and cleaned in Recorder 2(A) – Transcription 1 Amplified 1.
• After the following silence, the flashlight previously placed under the staircase turned on then quickly back off just as an investigator felt a cold touch at 13:30.
• Once more, there were no responses but at 16:30 the flashlight under the staircase turned on and stayed on.
• As the flashlight remained on, we asked if they could turn it back off. At 17:12 it turned back off.
• Unprompted, the flashlight turned on once again at 19:12.
• Again, we asked if they could reset the flashlight by turning it off and, at 21:36, it shut off.
• At 21:40, the Ovilus came to life beginning with the word ‘Hat’ once more unprompted.
• The group discussed the word hat and what it could mean. At 22:04, the GhostTube then produced ‘Shall I do something?’ as if they were waiting for the group.
• In turn, the Ovilus then produced ‘Mike’ and ‘Bill’ at 22:25 just as the flashlight turned on and stayed that way.
• We attempted to find out who this was interacting with the group so we asked if they were younger than ten years old and the light dimmer. We then asked if they were eight years old to which the light stayed on, unwavering. We then asked if they were under seven years old and the flashlight shut off. This occurred at 22:31.
• Following this, the group was stunned, but the GhostTube gave the words of ‘Three’ and ‘Possibly’ at 25:45.
• Continuing down this path, we asked if they were a girl and at 26:00 the flashlight turned on as if a yes response.
•  Again, we were stunned but the GhostTube then continued producing words with ‘Casket’ and ‘Record’ at 26:07.
• Unsure where to go with some of this, the Ovilus then produced what we thought was a name of ‘Mason’ at 27:28 unprompted.
• Trying to put these pieces together, we asked if this was Racehl but instead of any type of confirmation, there was a similar knocking from under the staircase at 29:42. This was separated for another, closer listen at Recorder 2(B) – Transcription 1 Amplified 2.
• Following this, our sensitives believed that they were quite annoyed with the amount of people in their area. This occurred right around 37:00.
• About a minute later, the same sensitive felt like something was being controlling and thought someone had the internal sensation of “she’s mine.”
• There was a strong energy shift which was felt by the group and verbalized by many at about 40:11 just as the K2 meter in the corner under the steps showed a spike up to red.
• A strange whisper was captured here and, after it was closely analyzed, sounded as though the word “Daddy” was being called out at 40:43. This, too, was set aside for review and can be listened to at Recorder 2(C) – Transcription 1 Amplified 3.

• At :06, an intense knocking noise was heard echoing from under the stairs.

• After we asked if this was Rachel there was another knock recorded at :12 in a similar spot under the stairs.

• What sounded like a whisper of “Daddy” was captured out of thin air at :03.

 

Recorder 3 – ESTES Method Room Mic:

 

 

• While this section’s Spirit Box recording was captured using a guest investigator’s recorder, all we have to go off is the room recorder. If that investigator reads this, we’d be happy to superimpose their Spirit Box recording with this room microphone to gain a better understanding of the communication and even gather better evidence rather than just relaying this information from the listener.
• Regardless, there are some vital communication points here we wanted to document starting with our sensitives’ sensation capturing a feeling that the young girl was forced back into the corner in a fetal position, sobbing.
• With that feeling, we asked openly when they were hiding in the corner and, at 1:16, the Ovilus produced the word ‘Calm.’
• Our sensitivities continued feeling that this girl was terrified and was attempting to completely disconnect herself from whatever was under the staircase. This also meant cutting communication with us.
• As we discussed this feeling, the K2 meter spiked to red at 3:20 as if confirming this.
• Following this moment, our sensitives began to get an image of this girl with darker hair and a lighter dress, either white or yellow.
• With some silence, the Ovilus produced two words seemingly associated with this young girl with ‘13’ and ‘Mama’ at 7:38.
• Not long after, roughly around 7:50, our sensitive felt touched on the neck.
• The Ovilus began producing further communication, unprompted, beginning with ‘Some’ at 8:09 and ‘Jordan’ at 8:15 followed by GhostTube giving us ‘Again,’ ‘Save,’ and ‘Underline’ at 9:43.
• At about 10:14, the investigator listening to the Spirit Box in sense deprivation felt a push on the headphones then a cold movement of energy at 10:40.
• As an investigator moved toward an old four-legged chair, he explained how he felt; like he was meant to be there. As he got settled in, suddenly, as if out of nowhere, the chair’s legs blew out causing the investigator to crash to the floor. This occurred around 15:32 and can be further heard in the clip named Recorder 3(A) – ESTES Method Room Mic Amplified 1.
• The GhostTube continued to activate as the group tried to recollect itself asking ‘Do I scare you?’ at 16:42.
• After we asked what was keeping them in this area, the GhostTube gave a simple phrase of ‘I’m a woman’ at 17:09.
• Even though the listener in the headphones did not hear much to this point, they heard “Stop it” at 17:39 as the Ovilus produced the word ‘Sitting’ at 18:39.

 

Recorder 3(A) – ESTES Method Room Mic Amplified 1:

 

 

• As one of the guest investigators sat in a chair and began to take in the energy, the chair’s legs practically exploded  sending him to the floor at :07.

 

Recorder 4 – EVP 2:

 

 

• At :04, a banging against a pipe was captured here with the recorder being placed under the staircase where the darkness seemed to reside.

 

Recorder 5 – EVP 3:

 

 

• An all too familiar squeaking of a pipe was recorded here at :03 as this recorder was placed at the base of the staircase.

 

Recorder 6 – EVP 4:

 

 

• Following the investigator under sense deprivation hearing “Stop it” there was a heavy breathing captured hear through the recorder at :03 and :09 even though this was not heard in person.

• Right away, at :01, there was an odd light moving at the right hand side.

 

 

Video 2 – Trail Camera 2:

 

• There were three different unexplainable light anomalies captured here starting with one moving sporadically in the center at :02 then a streaking light seen at :04.
• At :08, a final light was captured speeding past and directly in front of the camera.

• The flashlight could be seen turning on after a strange light anomaly moved towards it as if disappearing into it at :09.

• The flashlight could be seen turning off on its own at :04 then, off screen, a secondary flashlight could be seen turning on at :18.

• Immediately, the flashlight flickered and reset but at :13, it flickered once more.
• In the back of the room, the secondary flashlight could be seen turning on at :16.

• The secondary flashlight, in the back of the room, could be seen turning on at :14.

• At :02, the flashlight could be seen turning on then back off at :12.

• On the right hand side of the screen, a shadow turning mist could be seen moving at :08.

• A similar shadow and mist combination was again captured here at :19 on the right hand side of the screen.

• Even though there was not much communication captured during this timeframe, the chair which had broken could be seen in this video in more or less a before and after scenario as the group could be seen reacting to this incredible event.

 

 

This second public paranormal investigation from the night of the Mars Spooktacular, occurred in the Social Club Barbershop just three storefronts down from the After Hours Tattoo Studios in the heart of Mars, PA. Our time here provided us with exceptional paranormal experiences culminating in solidifying our previous claims of two energies at opposite ends of the spectrum; one negative and dark while the other is lighter and more innocent. With this, we had the opportunity to expand upon these and dig deeper into their histories and true meaning for their existence.

 

The majority of the sensations stemmed from our sensitives as well as some guest investigators who tapped into their sixth senses. These led to further communications through flashlights and K2 meters confirming what they had felt on numerous occasions. There were also a few anomalies experienced out of thin air like knocking noises and banging of pipes from underneath the staircase as if in an attempt to draw the group’s attention. This did contradict the prior thought that this darker energy simply watched from a distance and rather that it was more intelligent and controlling of its area than our past experiences.

 

 

In addition to the two energies’ existence and need to be acknowledged, we gained further information regarding these entities both individually and their connection. The young girl took a humongous step forward coming close to us with her energy but more so showing her emotions, specifically fears. She was comfortable showing herself hiding in the corner and how she was just simply petrified of this dark, negative energy. While this could be seen as a weakness, showing this side of herself to us helps us realize that the emotions we previously felt were quite accurate. On top of this, we can continue to pursue this and ideally find out why she’s afraid and eventually how we could help.

 

Being that the more negative energy seemed to be triggered as the group gave the younger girl more attention, it shows that this darkness has a controlling emotional tie to this girl where she’s under this unknown entity’s jurisdiction. This power was initially thought to just stay in its position in the back corner under the staircase but this most recent investigation proved that to be incorrect. The more its power grows, the more it can venture out into the open basement to increase its control over the girl and the space as a whole. This too can be beneficial in the long run as we can gain more insight into what this darkness actually is and its purpose for being here.

 

 

The most communication with the younger girl occurred through energy changing tools like the flashlights, K2 meters, and even the Ovilus but the darkness under the stairs exuded a different type of energy and was very hesitant on how it interacted with us. The main focus for this seemed to be more of an energy feed out of fear or an uncertainty of guests as it lurks in the corner in the darkness but ensuring they know they are there and watching and just taking everything in. This seems to interact more with the physical world in the form of banging on objects just as pipes and wooden stairs to let people know that they are there and capable of altering the landscape and energy in the room. As this gathers the energy, it steps forward more and more when it doesn’t like something, such as the young girl’s attention and communication with her. It tends to split the group up and almost want individuals stranded and spread out in certain areas in hopes of controlling the atmosphere more rather than any group providing them with more strength ultimately leaving less energy for this darkness.

 

Although there are multiple floors, these energies seem to stay in this underground space. It is still unknown to us why this is, but with that limited space here there aren’t many places for these energies to go, whether it’s for them to get a break from guests who enter the area or to hide and gather more energy for some type of communication purpose. This specifically comes into play as the young girl is more emotional and needs to get away from that darkness and recollect herself but she is really unable to do so. She simply pulls back into the far corner and shows her fear more openly and sadness with her tears. While the darkness seems to mainly reside in the alcove under the stairs, it certainly ventures out to reclaim its space but once more, without any other areas to journey to, it moves closer and closer to the girl while moving around the exterior block wall enveloping everything it touches in a sense of heavier energy and lack of light. Other than just disappearing and reappearing, they certainly seem tied to this space and are constantly at ends gaining more control.

 

 

Similar to our past investigations and experiences in the Social Club Barbershop, in particular in the basement, the energies are situated initially in specific areas and almost keep to themselves until there is a shift in energy. This is especially evident when they are directly addressed by the investigators leading to an almost tug of war over this space and attention. The darkness easily wins this battle as its control over the girl occurs time and time again sending her into frenzies and emotional states of pure terror as she is scared of this darkness for some reason which is still undetermined.

 

This most recent investigation has brought new energy levels in the form of new investigators and fresh questions and perspectives. Perhaps because of this, the young girl has seemed much more interested and willing to step forward to confirm her existence, gender, and even age. While this is all wonderful in the sense of gaining her identity and purpose of existence it has shown us that the darkness under the staircase has a more nefarious intention, constantly shutting this girl down and frightening her. We’ve also realized from this investigation that it’s much more mobile and controlling of the area as well moving throughout the open space. This darkness also has an easier time, or perhaps preference, to effect inanimate objects to increase the amount of gathered energy from fear or simple uneasiness. This was notably captured in knocking sounds against wood and pipes but also putting more pressure on items like chairs forcing them to bend and break under someone’s weight scaring not just the one affected, but also the entire group with this immense energy transfer.

 

As with every location, our intent is always respectful and non-provocative but to continue building on our experiences and evidence from this location has been invaluable to us as a team as well as uncovering the buried past of this building. The open door to investigate this barber shop is extremely humbling and we are grateful beyond words for the trust in the owners and employees to continue our research at the Social Club Barbershop. We believe that the open-mindedness of those who work here and the returning clientele play a humongous role in fostering the otherworldly energies and growth of our experiences and findings. This all plays into our main goal of gaining the identities and purpose of these energies and hoping to keep them at peace and allow them the choice and decision whether they want to remain here or the ability to move on, allowing them to fulfill their destiny, whatever that may mean to them as individuals.
