Investigation

Some investigations begin with stories passed along through rumor or local lore. Others begin much closer to home, within lived spaces where families quietly adapt to experiences they cannot explain. The Brookline residence belongs firmly in the latter. Long before Iron City Paranormal became involved, the home had already established itself as a place of persistent presence, marked not by spectacle, but by repetition, awareness, and the steady accumulation of unease.

What set this location apart was not the intensity of any single event, but the consistency of experiences reported over time. For the homeowners, these occurrences were not isolated moments but an ongoing part of daily life. Sensations of being observed, unexplained movement, and subtle disturbances became part of the environment itself. Friends, family members, and first-time visitors alike described similar reactions upon entering the space, often without prior knowledge of the home’s history or reported activity.

When Iron City Paranormal was contacted, it was not with the expectation of provoking phenomena, but with the hope of understanding it. The owners expressed a firm belief that whatever existed within the home did not require invitation or encouragement to make itself known. Their request was rooted in documentation, clarity, and ultimately resolution, approached with respect rather than confrontation.

This investigation was conducted with that understanding at its core. Performed during daylight hours and without intentional provocation, our focus centered on observation, environmental monitoring, and respectful engagement with a space that already appeared active on its own terms. From the outset, the residence carried the impression of awareness, less reactive than attentive, as though quietly acknowledging those within it.

At the heart of this case, however, was not just the question of what occupied the home, but who. As the investigation progressed, emerging patterns suggested that not all presence within the residence felt unfamiliar or intrusive. Instead, impressions began to form of something deeply personal, protective rather than threatening, observant rather than disruptive. Evidence gathered would later indicate that this presence may be connected to the homeowner’s grandfather, a figure she never had the opportunity to meet in life, yet one who appears to have made himself known within the space as a means of reassurance and quiet connection.

Following our arrival at the Brookline residence in the late morning, we prepared to spend the early afternoon immersed in a location already heavy with personal testimony and long-standing unexplained experiences. This daytime investigation, lasting from approximately 11:00 AM through mid-afternoon, was designed not only to document reported activity, but to respectfully engage a space shaped by layers of history, land use, and human experience. Though surrounded by a quiet residential neighborhood, the home itself stands atop industrial-era ground, placing its present reality in direct conversation with Pittsburgh’s working past.

Unlike many locations where stories circulate through rumor, our involvement with this property came directly from the owners themselves. Their experiences were not distant accounts but years of personal encounters that unfolded while living within the home. Nearly every visitor they ever welcomed inside remarked on feeling watched, unsettled, or distinctly aware of an unseen presence, often described as observant rather than aggressive. The owners expressed firm confidence that activity would occur without deliberate provocation, emphasizing that whatever resides within the home has always been persistent, observant, and present.

Upon entering the residence, several investigators independently reported an immediate sense of awareness within the space, as if our arrival had been noticed and acknowledged. Equipment was carefully placed throughout key areas of the home, and we allowed the environment time to settle before beginning any focused communication. Even in daylight, unexplained sounds moved through empty rooms, subtle temperature changes occurred in isolated areas, and the familiar sensation of movement just outside the line of sight continued to surface.

As the investigation progressed into the early afternoon, moments of possible intelligent response began to emerge across multiple devices. At times, the home felt responsive and alert, while at others it settled into heavy stillness, creating the impression of a space that was listening rather than reacting, responding selectively rather than continuously. The activity did not feel confined to a single room but instead appeared to shift through the house with intention.

Prior to our involvement, the owners supplied two pieces of video evidence that had been captured inside the home. While these events were not recorded during our investigation, they played a significant role in shaping expectations for the day. In the first video, a door is shown standing open before suddenly slamming shut with force, without any visible environmental cause or human interaction. In the second recording, filmed while looking up a staircase, a door that begins fully closed slowly opens on its own, pauses briefly, and then violently slams shut. These clips were provided as part of the initial outreach and added to a growing pattern of documented disturbances reported within the residence, helping establish the long-term consistency of the claims.

What made these reports particularly compelling is that they mirror the same experiences described by the owners and nearly every long-term visitor to the home. The sensation of being watched, followed, or quietly observed has remained consistent across individuals, regardless of whether they were aware of the home’s history beforehand. That same pattern continued with our team during the daytime investigation.

The land itself remains an unavoidable part of this story. Once controlled by the Pittsburgh Coal Company and shaped by unseen industrial labor beneath the surface, the ground below the home feels inseparable from the phenomena experienced above it. The residence stands not just as a structure, but as a layered imprint of everything that came before, from private ownership to industrial control to family life.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, Iron City Paranormal will perform a full sound and sage cleansing of the space at the request of the owners, with the intent of restoring balance within the environment before the home enters its next chapter. This final step serves not as a provocation, but as an act of respect for both the living and any unseen presence that may remain connected to the property.

The Brookline investigation marks not just a search for answers, but a moment of transition for the home itself. What was documented during these daylight hours will now be carefully reviewed and analyzed as we continue working to separate environmental explanations from what may represent something far less easily defined.

We invite readers to review the documented findings and offer their own perspectives or experiences. Ongoing discussion and shared insight remain central to our approach, and we appreciate the voices of those willing to engage respectfully with the unknown.

As always, you have been warned, some of this is not for the faint of heart and can be slightly explicit:

Pre-Investigation Walkthrough

Initial contact regarding the Brookline residence was made through social media after the homeowner viewed Iron City Paranormal’s investigation at Caliente’s Pizza & Drafthouse in Crafton, Pennsylvania. Following this outreach, communication continued through a phone conversation in which the homeowner described ongoing unexplained experiences within the home. An on-site visit was then scheduled, with the intent of conducting a walkthrough immediately prior to a brief daytime investigation, followed by a planned sound and sage cleansing of the property.

Upon arrival at the residence on the day of the investigation, the walkthrough was conducted as the first step before any equipment was deployed. The homeowner guided team members through the home, outlining past experiences and identifying areas where atmospheric changes or activity had been most frequently observed. This allowed investigators to gain environmental context and establish a baseline understanding of the space before formal investigative procedures began.

As team members individually moved through the residence, subtle environmental and atmospheric changes were noted in various areas. These observations included shifts in temperature, sound, and overall sensation within the space. A particularly distinct change was reported upon reaching the second-floor landing near the master bedroom. Multiple investigators independently described a sudden heaviness in the atmosphere, accompanied by a sense of pressure and mild dizziness. This shift appeared localized and noticeably different from the surrounding areas of the home.

No deliberate communication attempts or investigative techniques were employed during the walkthrough. The purpose of this phase was observational in nature, allowing investigators to familiarize themselves with the environment and document initial impressions without influence or provocation. These observations informed the placement of equipment and provided important context for the investigation that immediately followed.

  • There was nothing captured at this time through pictures that stood out.

Recording 1 – Walkthrough:

  • While we did run a recorder during this walkthrough, there was nothing heard here out of the ordinary, but it was good to record what the building sounds like at a static/constant level.

Video 1 – Walkthrough 1:

  • The true purpose of this walkthrough video is for posterity and to give us a visual of the property that we could compare at a later time if needed. This scenario did not come into play during this investigation, but it is always a good practice to gain a static video and recording of the location.

Investigative Areas and Device Placement

Due to the size and layout of the Brookline residence, investigative efforts were intentionally focused rather than expansive. Device placement and active communication were guided by prior claims, shared evidence, walkthrough observations, and the need to minimize environmental interference within the home. Equipment was deployed in three primary areas: the master bedroom, the staircase, and the basement. While monitoring occurred throughout these spaces, active communication was limited to the staircase, where the environment allowed for clearer interaction without disruption to the rest of the residence.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom was sparsely furnished and primarily used for storage at the time of the investigation. The room contained a desk, a mattress positioned on the floor, a small bench, and several personal items stored along the perimeter. Despite its minimal setup, the space carried a noticeably heavy atmosphere, consistent with observations made during the initial walkthrough.

A stationary video camera was positioned to monitor two illuminated cat balls placed on the mattress, along with a motion‑sensored light intended to register movement within the room. An audio recorder was left running continuously to capture any ambient or unexplained sounds, and a Phasma Box was also placed in the room to passively record potential communication. All devices were left unattended, as investigators were actively working from another area of the home during this time.

During later review, the video footage showed early movement of the cat balls, followed by activation of the motion‑sensored light, indicating possible motion within the monitored area. The audio recorder captured multiple knocking sounds that were not associated with known sources inside the home. Playback of the Phasma Box audio provided additional context, offering what appeared to be relevant and reactive phrases. Among these were statements indicating reluctance to knock, questions regarding why the door was shut, and repeated directional references to the “basement” and “downstairs.”

Additional phrases recorded included the name “Elizabeth,” possibly shortened to “Lizbeth,” as well as two separate pleas of “help” surrounding the word “please.” One response suggested a desire for help from “the man.” It is important to note that none of these statements were heard in real time, as all devices in the master bedroom were monitored remotely and reviewed only after the investigation concluded.

Photos:

  • These are screen captures from our video camera which showcased the cat balls lighting with some unseen force moving it.

  • The motion light could be seen activating as if something passed in front of it.

Recorder 1 – EVP 1:

  • Early on, the Ovilus produced a few different words beginning with ‘Heavy’ and ‘Tone’ at :02 and ‘Make’ and ‘Form’ at :12.
  • This timeframe ended with the name ‘Walter’ provided on the Ovilus at :51.

Recorder 2 – EVP 2:

  • The Rempod could be heard alerting at :05 for about 5 seconds.

Recorder 3 – Phasma Box 1:

  • After we explained that they’re not afraid of this energy we heard a question of “Maybe now?” at :08.

Recorder 4 – Phasma Box 2:

  • While we discussed the basement holding a strong aura, we captured the word “Downstairs” and “Basement” at :19 and 1:02 consecutively.
  • We were given an apology of “Sorry” at 1:08 as if they were drawing us down there.

Recorder 5 – Phasma Box 3:

  • The trio of investigators discussed sitting atop the stairs and the Phasma Box produced communication explaining that they were seemingly trapped here with “We’re stuck up here” at :03.
  • We were commanded to “Sit there” at :09.
  • As something brushed up against one of the investigators, we discussed this potential and heard a confirmation of “Yeah” at 1:22.
  • We simply explained our intentions by telling them that we’re curious about them and what’s going on in this house. At 1:46, an intelligent response of “Us too” was recorded.

Recorder 6 – Phasma Box 4:

  • We were asking what they wanted and why they were here and we were caught off guard when we were told that they were “Hungry” at :07.
  • As we laid out some motion activated cat balls and lights, we explained their purpose and that if they just touched these items that they would light up. A surprised “Oh” was heard here at :16.
  • Another way to communicate was expressed in the form of knocking and as we tried to get these unseen forces to agree to knock for us to confirm they understood, a knocking was actually heard through the Phasma Box and not through a physical type nature at 1:36 but after we asked them to repeat these noise they told us that they “Don’t want to” at 1:58.

Recorder 7 – Phasma Box 5:

  • These entities turned the tables and asked us a question in turn, at :03, with “Why’s the door shut?”
  • Unsure of which door they were calling out, we looked around and noticed the basement door was closed so we actually asked them if they could open the door but we heard “We’ll do it” at 1:31 followed by a confirmation of “We do” at 1:33.

Recorder 8 – Phasma Box 6:

  • With the K2 meter spiking, we asked one another if the other investigators noticed it as well but instead of a live person responding, we heard a response from the other side at :07 with “Did you see that?” followed by a simple question of “What’s that?’ at :13 referencing the K2 meter.
  • After we asked if they could replicate that movement and light it again, we were given an apology of “Sorry” at 1:38 as if they were unable to do so and we were explained why at 1:41 with “She won’t let me.”.

Recorder 9 – Phasma Box 7:

  • With no prompt, we were asked for “Help” at :04 paired up with a name of “Elizabeth” at :10.
  • This plea was once again heard but this time sounding more desperate with “Help” at :13, then “Please” at :27, and again “Help” at :29.
  • We explained that we want to help but they’re not communicating with the knocks like we were trying to use, but at :41, “Knock” was recorded.
  • After asking what they needed help with, we were told “The man” at :43 and “It is” at :48 perhaps confirming this man as the reasoning for them seemingly being stuck in this space.

Recorder 10 – Phasma Box 8:

  • We explained that the owners found newspapers and coins strewn all over the building when they first got in and we were greeted with a quite sarcastic “Good to know” at :11.
  • As we were given the sensation that someone was once pushed down the stairs here leading to pain and possibly demise, we asked them directly if anyone was pushed down the staircase but were given an empathic “No” at 1:16 and repeated immediately.
  • The name Elizabeth was seemingly heard here in its shortened version, “Lizbeth” at 1:26, perhaps this was a nickname of this person we were speaking with?

Recorder 11 – Phasma Box 9:

  • Circling all the way back to our initial intent of communicating, we asked if they could knock to which they did so at :28 and again at :46.

Video 1 – Stationary Camera 1:

  • The motion sensor light could be seen activating at :03 as if some unseen force was passing in front of it.
  • It shut off to reset at :23 but at :29 it was alerted and activated was again.
  • It finally shut off at :49.

Video 2 – Handheld Camera 1:

  • The cat ball could be seen moving and turning on immediately.

Video 3 – Handheld Camera 2:

  • The cat ball could again be seen going off here.

Video 4 – Handheld Camera 3:

  • The other cat ball on the mattress was spotted moving and lighting in this clip.

Staircase

The staircase served as the primary focal point of the investigation and the area where the majority of active communication took place. One investigator was positioned in the upstairs hallway near the top of the stairs, another remained downstairs in the living room, and a third investigator conducted the ESTES Method under sensory deprivation. This configuration allowed for layered observation while minimizing cross-contamination of sound and influence. Prior to the investigation, the homeowner had provided video footage showing a door at the top of the staircase opening and closing on its own, which directly informed device placement in this area.

A trail camera was positioned at the top of the stairs and trained on the door referenced in the earlier video evidence. This was paired with a Rempod and a K2 meter to monitor proximity and electromagnetic changes. During the session, the K2 meter alerted repeatedly and with notable strength, correlating with reports from the nearby investigator of sudden cold sensations. At one point, a deliberate pause in questioning was met with immediate and pronounced Rempod activation, giving the impression of dissatisfaction with the break and an apparent desire for continued engagement.

Early in the session, audio anomalies were also observed, including knocking sounds and a distinct sniffling noise. The sound was described as resembling quiet crying or someone attempting to suppress emotion. These sounds occurred without an identifiable environmental source and set an emotional tone that persisted through much of the communication that followed.

The Estes Method produced the most compelling communication of the investigation. Numerous specific references were received and later confirmed only after speaking with the homeowner. These included the name “Bailey” and repeated emphasis on July 4th, both of which were later connected to the homeowner’s dog, Bailey, who had passed away on that date. The name “Albert” was also communicated multiple times, with instructions to share it with the homeowner. It was subsequently confirmed that her grandfather, whom she never met, was named Albert and had also passed away on July 4th. When considered together, these details suggested a deeply personal attempt at communication. Based on the totality of the evidence, it appeared that Albert was making repeated efforts not only to get the homeowner’s attention, but to reassure her of his presence and protection, while also signaling awareness of another presence within the home.

Photos:

  • At the top of the staircase, where one of the investigators set up the ESTES Method and sense deprivation, the K2 meter and Rempod were both placed in front of the door behind this investigator. These screen captures show multiple moments of the K2 meter flashing to life as well as the Rempod activating.

Recorder 1 – EVP 1:

  • As we jumped into attempting to communicate with the team spread out, we attempted to gain some type of visual communication by asking them to move the cat ball and light it up. Instead of stepping forward to do so, they decided to loudly knock which could be heard at :21.

Recorder 2 – EVP 2:

  • With the Phasma Box echoing out from the master bedroom, it could be heard calling out for help starting with “Please” at :04 and “Help” at :23.

Recorder 3 – EVP 3:

  • Following some Ovilus activity, an investigator felt as though someone was behind them at which point we heard an almost sniffling sound as if a woman had been crying prior to this. The noise was captured at :05 and was actually paired up with a knocking noise that we heard only during our review.

Recorder 4 – Spirit Box 1:

  • As we prepared, both emotionally and technologically, for an ESTES Method, something came over us as we did not jump right into it. We did let the Spirit Box run though which captured the following communication although we were not paying attention to it at the moment. Luckily we recorded this as well which allowed us to play it all back and hear the communication they were trying to relay to us through the Spirit Box.
  • In this first clip they told us that “We’ve been better” at :03 followed by “Yeah” at :28 as if they confirmed this after a moment.
  • One of the investigator’s names was heard, “Dan,” at 1:03 followed by “You’re not gonna know” at 1:11, as if they knew we were not listening in at the time.
  • Although, with this next phrase it was as if they were teasing us with a morsel of truth with a continuation of “Where it happened” at 1:13. If you put these last two phrases together it was as if they were gloating that we were not going to know where some important action occurred.

Recorder 5 – Spirit Box 2:

  • We were told that something didn’t occur on a regularity with “Not very often” at :03.
  • “Penny” was then heard at :15 which didn’t mean much aside from the fact that there were random coins appearing around the house which did include pennies.
  • The name “Tom” was captured at :35 followed by a command of “Stop” at :59.

Recorder 6 – Spirit Box 3:

  • We were informed that the didn’t know something with “I don’t” at :01 and “Know” at :03.
  • This was followed by the word “Alcohol” at :15.

Recorder 7 – Spirit Box 4:

  • During this timeframe, we heard a few clear attempts at communication beginning with “No” at :04 followed by a command of “Get out” at :21.
  • This ended with a claim of “Not evil” at :25.

Recorder 8 – Spirit Box 5:

  • We were provided with a pair of names here with “Paul” at :03 and “Mason” at :27.

Recorder 9 – Spirit Box 6:

  • Lastly during this timeframe, a more or less unsettling word of “Knife” was heard at :03.

Recorder 10 – ESTES Method 1:

  • We began the ESTES Method once we felt the energy settled in and grew comfortable with us. We spread out for this scenario and began with two investigators in the first floor living room and the one investigator on the second floor landing at the top of the staircase under sense deprivation. This spit seemed to hold the most energy and we constantly were pulled back here so we figured what better place to attempt direct communication?
  • Even with all of this energy and even the openness of other interactions prior to this, it took a decent amount of time for them to open up to us, no matter what we asked about or how we approached it, all we received was the dull, staticky buzz of the Spirit Box but when they were ready, these unseen residents truly opened up to us.
  • This all began with a simple, friendly dialogue. We gently asked them if they used all of their energy and received an equally level-headed, intelligent response of “Tired” at :08.

Recorder 11 – ESTES Method 2:

  • We continued to discuss them being tired and explained that we had some energy producing tools they could utilize to get their energy back. After offering up these tools and if they wanted to use them so they could speak to us, we captured “Probably” at :05 and “Message” at :28. Our interpretation of this was that they possibly could use the tools and that they needed to in order to relay a message.

Recorder 12 – ESTES Method 3:

  • At this point, it seemed as though they had charged up, at least more than they were as they felt comfortable and confident enough to begin truly conserving with us. This began with a simple question, right out of the textbook: “Can you tell us your name?” At :05, we thought we were on the right track as we heard the beginnings of a direct answer with “It is…”
  • After a pause, we tried to nudge them along and asked what it was and heard a rather rude non-answer of “Stop” at :18.
  • With that, we asked if they preferred that we stop talking to them and heard a rather confusing response of “Talk” at :36 and again at :40.
  • Although we were confused at this point, we tried to change the tone and direction by asking if they only wanted to speak with the female rather than with the group? Instead of any type of direct answer, they responded with “Louder” at :53 followed by the number “99” at 1:04. Louder makes sense, perhaps they couldn’t hear us over the static of the Spirit Box (even though that was confined to the headphones), but we are still trying to figure out how the number relates to…well, anything, really.

Recorder 13 – ESTES Method 4:

  • While we tried to piece these together, we asked if this was an amount, a number that’s linked to a “statement” which we heard through the Ovilus earlier. We heard a response of “I doubt it” at :14 showing a clear answer as well as some personality as if they could only be so lucky to have that much on their statement.

Recorder 14 – ESTES Method 5:

  • With not much more to go off, we asked if there was anything else they wanted to tell us and heard “Long time” at :14 as if to tell us that they have been here for an extended period of time and that they’re not just a fleeting sensation.

Recorder 15 – ESTES Method 6:

  • The furnace kicked on which made noises and caused a bit of a draft in certain spots where there were vents and we discussed this, taking note of the changes but we weren’t the only ones to notice. We captured “Warm up” at :13.
  • With some silence, we were reminded that they were still nearby with “Still me” at :40.
  • After we took note of that comment, we responded telling them that we’re still here as well. Instead of a continuation, we heard a new thought with “Over” at :52 elaborated with “Start over” at 1:03.

Recorder 16 – ESTES Method 7:

  • Unprompted, we heard the word “Opportunity” at :05.
  • We asked what this meant and we heard a response of “Doctor” at :36 followed by “Heart” at :48. While we’re unsure how these go together, there certainly could be a tie together here in regards to their heart and needing a doctor to help them in the past.
  • Even though we asked them to repeat what they say and asked them to elaborate, there was no response. Instead, we mentioned that they just didn’t like to repeat themself just s we heard the word “Talking” at 1:31.

Recorder 17 – ESTES Method 8:

  • Once again, we were open ended and asked what else they would like to tell us to which we captured the word “Life” at :15.
  • We focused on this and asked what they meant by this and what they could tell us about life to which we heard a phrase of “About the woman” at :53 followed by “Mine” at :58 as if they were talking about the life of their woman.

Recorder 18 – ESTES Method 9:

  • As we re-adjusted our mindset, we asked more about the woman and we heard “July” at :03 and while we thought they meant a name of July, this was followed by “Fourth” at :17 as if to say the 4th of July.
  • We asked directly if something occurred on the fourth of July and we heard “Alongside” at :53.
  • To follow this, we asked what they were alongside and captured “Dog” at 1:17 and again at 1:23.

Recorder 19 – ESTES Method 10:

  • At :05, we heard a sudden openness of “My name” but this was not followed by their name, rather, we heard a confident and calm “Don’t be scared” at :12.
  • We asked what their name was but heard “Bailey” at :48 and “Dog” at :50.
  • After that, we asked if this was their dog’s name and heard “Dog” once again at 1:23.

Recorder 20 – ESTES Method 11:

  • We discussed dogs and how we all enjoyed dogs and their company and heard an agreeing term of “Nice” at :03.

Recorder 21 – ESTES Method 12:

  • Following some silence, we told them not to be shy and that they could keep talking to us but heard a change of discussion with “Down” at :01.
  • We asked if they were coming downstairs and we heard “House” at :18.
  • The word “Owner” was recorded at :31 so we asked if they were a former owner but instead we were commanded to “Tell her” at 1:15.
  • Following that, we asked what they wanted us to tell her and they seemed to beg for us to reach out with “Call” at 1:25.

Recorder 22 – ESTES Method 13:

  • With a sudden cold snap, the word “Dog” was again heard at :05 followed by another plea of “Tell her” at :10 then finally “Tell” at :15.

Recorder 23 – ESTES Method 14:

  • As we took a pause to regroup and decide where to go from here, ultimately that we would reach out to the owner, the Rempod was alerted and went off at :01 until :09 as if to tell us they were not done.

Recorder 24 – ESTES Method 15:

  • After explaining to the owner everything that we knew, she informed us that they had a dog named Bailey who passed away from old age on July 4. We jumped back under sense deprivation to continue on as quickly as we could and, after we asked if that was all they wanted to say, which was that they were sorry for the loss of their dog.
  • We were told “Suffer” at :07 as if they witnessed the dog suffer alongside the owner.
  • After we tried to connect the dots, we asked if they did not want to see the dog suffer to which we received a response of “Never” at :28.

Recorder 25 – ESTES Method 16:

  • We seemed to hit a wall as we were told to “Forget” at :15 followed by “You don’t know” at :30 as if we weren’t going to be allowed to relay anymore information.

Recorder 26 – ESTES Method 17:

  • After some silence and a reset, we were provided with the name “Albert” at :05.
  • We asked directly if this was their name and were provided with an odd response of “Alive” at :18 as if to say that was his name when he was alive.
  • Not to overtly express the obvious, we did ask if that was the case and if that’s what he meant and he told us “Every day” at 1:12 as if to say in a rather mundane, dry sense of humor that yes, that was in fact his name.

Recorder 27 – ESTES Method 18:

  • The number “Five” was recorded here at :04 followed by “True” at :10 as if he was trying to prove something with that number.
  • He then told us “Sweetheart” at :16.
  • To that, we asked if that’s what they called the dog and if maybe the dog was five years old to which we were given a rather abrupt and concise “No” at :50.
  • We then asked what that number meant to which we were told “Most” at 1:39 but as we asked what was most, he seemingly adjusted the word to be “Almost” at 1:50 as if to say we were almost correct earlier.

Recorder 28 – ESTES Method 19:

  • Openly discussing our confusion, we explained that we were struggling to figure out what he was trying to tell us to which he said “Family” at :10.
  • Something clicked as we combined this with the number and asked if maybe they had five family members to which we were told “Comfortable” at :28 and “Emotional” at :34.
  • This was followed by the word “Service” at :42 but we’re unsure how any of that ties together.

Recorder 29 – ESTES Method 20:

  • While we contemplated all of this trying to put this all together, they seemed to get frustrated and expressed this with “For God’s sake” at :05.

Recorder 30 – ESTES Method 21:

  • We were once again told “Family” at :09 followed by “Owner” at :20.
  • This seemed to be tied together with the word “Love” at 1:06.

Recorder 31 – ESTES Method 22:

  • The name “Albert” was again captured here at :05.
  • We asked if he had a last name but instead we were told “Simply” and “Tell her” at 1:19 and 1:22 as if telling us to tell the owner that name.

Recorder 32 – ESTES Method 23:

  • After we relayed all of this to the owner, we asked if there was anything else that we should tell her right at that moment and were told “Myself” at :05.
  • At that moment, we were told that the owner’s grandfather, who she never met, was named Albert and also died on July 4. As we discussed this fact, we heard “Free” at 1:03 followed by “Church” and “Prayed” at 1:07 and 1:14 as if her grandfather was aware that he had passed with a church and prayers.

Recorder 33 – ESTES Method 24:

  • We discussed in the group that he seemingly was there and perhaps watching over her and/or protecting the owner and heard a confirmation with “Warning” at :11.
  • After asking if he was trying to warn her of something we recorded “Always” at :20 and “watching” at :33 as if to tell her that he’s always watching over her.
  • We then heard “Young man” at :48 and “There’s more” at 1:03 after we asked if there was something specific he was trying to warn her about.

Recorder 34 – ESTES Method 25:

  • After we asked if she perhaps has an attachment, we heard the number “Two” at :07 but this could be in reference to the other energy inside the building and her grandfather himself.

Recorder 35 – ESTES Method 26:

  • With a slew of silence, we were unsure whether we should continue or start to pack it in but were given our answer with “Wait” at :09.
  • We asked what we should wait for and were told “There’s this guy” at :29.
  • The word “Whiskey” was captured at :46 as a way to explain who this man was and perhaps why he was still here; either because of whiskey or for their whiskey?

Recorder 36 – ESTES Method 27:

  • As the medium walked off for a breather, we were told that she’s “Secure” at :07 on the first floor where she was and asked if she was “Done?” at :23 via the Ovilus.
  • After we asked what he was trying to tell us we were told to “Look” at :29 which did coincide with the K2 meter flashing to life as if he moved closer to it.

Recorder 37 – ESTES Method 28:

  • Prior to this clip, the Ovilus had produced the words ‘Ashes’ and ‘Alone’ but after we asked, once more, what he was trying to tell us, our attention was again drawn to the K2 meter and his confirmation with “There” at :24.

Recorder 38 – ESTES Method 29:

  • While we were still trying to piece together some of these things, we asked if this had to do with any family member maybe drinking too much but heard a concise response of “No” at :33.
  • We did ask for his help and if he could tell us what any of this meant he seemingly got frustrated and said “Lousey” at :59.

Recorder 39 – ESTES Method 30:

  • As we were lost with these details, we were told “Not” and “Nice” at :15 and :28. While we’re unsure what this is in reference to, it seemed that this was a continuation of the warning about this other energy in this house that the owner’s grandfather is trying to warn her of in the big picture.
  • As we seemed to come to an end here without any further communication or details to give, we were simply told to “Stop” at :44 after we explained that we would be forced to stop our communication here if he couldn’t provide us with further communication and details to which he apparently obliged.

Video 1 – Owner Provided Video:

  • In this clip, provided by the owner, the door on the right side could be seen moving, opening and closing, on its own.

Video 2 – Trail Camera 1:

  • At :028 the K2 meter spiked then flickered quickly at :11.

Video 3 – Trail Camera 2:

  • The K2 meter was quite active here as it flickered quickly on and off at :01.
  • From :03 – :08, the K2 meter spiked continuously.
  • The meter once again flickered at :14, :16, and :18.
  • At :20, the meter spiked once last moment during this timeframe.

Video 4 – Trail Camera 3:

  • The K2 meter seemed to be quite active once more as it spiked at :03 and :05.
  • It flickered quickly on and off at :07.
  • At :09, :11, and :14 the K2 meter spiked strongly during each moment.

Video 5 – Trail Camera 4:

  • Immediately, at :01, the K2 meter jumped just as the Rempod activated at :02.
  • Again, the K2 meter and Rempod activated at :03 and :09.
  • These all coincided with our quick pause to message the owner and the feeling was that this unseen force, seemingly the owner’s grandfather, was not done talking and wanted us to go back and listen once more. Naturally, we obliged.

Areas with Noted Energy Shifts – Basement/Living Room

The basement and living room were not primary locations for direct communication during the investigation, however, both spaces exhibited environmental characteristics that set them apart from the rest of the home. The basement, located beneath the main living area, featured a flat poured concrete floor and painted cinderblock walls. While visually unremarkable, investigators noted an immediate sense of unease and a subtle but consistent pull, giving the space an energetically distinct feel compared to the upper floors. During the initial walkthrough, a Rempod activation was reported in the basement, and throughout upstairs communication sessions the lower level was repeatedly referenced through terms such as “down” and “basement,” particularly during interactions believed to involve Albert.

Due to sustained activity occurring along the staircase and second floor, limited time was available for focused investigation in these areas. During that brief window, the basement door appeared to move on its own in a manner consistent with video previously documented by the homeowner. No environmental factors, including airflow or structural vibration, were identified that could reasonably explain the movement. Around this same period, a noise was heard coming from the basement; further examination determined the sound was caused by the staircase producing a squealing noise, providing a logical explanation for the disturbance.

Thermal imaging was captured in the basement following this event. Although the sound itself was explained, later review of the thermal image revealed an anomaly near floor level that appeared to resemble the shape and size of a small dog, an observation identified during post-investigation analysis rather than at the time of capture. Additionally, as a communication session was beginning on the staircase, a heavy, deep breath was audibly captured in the living room above, drawing attention to the space. While no direct communication sessions were conducted in either location, the repeated references to the lower level, prior homeowner documentation, unexplained physical movement, and thermal anomaly suggest these areas remain of interest and may warrant further focused investigation should activity increase or shift.

Photos:

  • The cat ball could be seen moving and lighting up during the walkthrough in the basement.

  • This thermal image below was captured as we were walking down the staircase. Knowing what we do now, we’re thinking that this may be the dog Bailey who Albert referenced earlier in the night. The regular, non-thermal image is shown next to it.

Recorder 1 – EVP 1:

  • During this quick clip, a heavy breathing could be heard at :04. This occurred in the Living Room.

Video 1 – Owner Provided Video:

  • This video shows what appears to be the door, which leads to the basement, closing on its own.

Video 2 – Handheld Camera 1:

  • The heavy breathing could be heard here, at :04, as we peered up the staircase from the Living Room.

Our investigation revealed a layered and deeply personal haunting, one not driven by chaos or hostility, but by protection, persistence, and an urgent need to be acknowledged. From the earliest moments of evidence review to the most emotionally charged communication sessions, it became clear that this home is not simply occupied, but watched over.

Initial activity throughout the residence manifested through subtle but meaningful physical interactions: unexplained knocking, movement captured on stationary devices, and environmental responses that coincided with moments of heightened communication. These were not isolated occurrences, but events that appeared to intelligently respond to both our placement of equipment and our presence within the space. Even when evidence was only discovered after the fact, such as recorded knocks or direct responses through the Phasma Box, it carried a deliberate quality, as though the communication had been waiting to be heard.

The staircase quickly emerged as the emotional and energetic focal point of the investigation. Through a combination of environmental monitoring, physical sensation, and extended Estes Method sessions, the communication intensified. Names, dates, and personal details were relayed with specificity, information that none of us were aware of at the time. The repeated references to a dog named Bailey and the significance of July 4th proved especially compelling, as both were later confirmed by the homeowner. Most striking was the repeated emergence of the name Albert, which ultimately aligned with the homeowner’s grandfather, someone who had passed before she was born, yet seemed determined to make his presence known.

As the evidence unfolded, a clearer narrative began to form. Albert did not present as a spirit seeking attention for its own sake, but as one driven by concern and guardianship. His communications suggested both a warning that there may be another presence within the home, and a reassurance that he remains there, actively watching over his granddaughter. The emotional tone of the communication, paired with moments of audible distress such as sniffling or crying, reinforced the sense that this was not residual activity, but an intelligent and emotionally aware presence.

Although our time in the basement was limited, it remains a significant piece of the larger picture. Repeated references to “down” and “basement,” along with prior Rempod alerts and unexplained door movement, suggest that the space holds its own distinct energy. While no direct communication was conducted there, its consistent mention throughout the investigation indicates that it may play a role in the overall activity within the home and warrants further focused exploration.

By the conclusion of the investigation, we felt confident that the primary presence making itself known was Albert, motivated not by unrest, but by protection and an overwhelming desire for acknowledgment. The experience left us with the strong impression of a family bond that has endured beyond death, one rooted in care rather than fear. While questions remain about the secondary presence hinted at during communication, the dominant narrative was one of vigilance, love, and connection.

We left this investigation with a sense of responsibility as much as resolution, grateful to have helped bridge a gap between generations and to have given voice to someone who has clearly been trying to be heard. It serves as a powerful reminder that not all hauntings are born of tragedy; some exist simply because love, once formed, does not always let go.

Heya! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to no backup.
Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
